NY Makes It Legal For Humans To Be Buried At The Pet Cemetery

New York state's Cemetery Board has made it legal for humans to have their ashes buried in pet cemeteries alongside their passed-away pets.

A woman from the Bronx, who wants to buried with her dogs and cats, said:

"I feel great. It was sort of like an early Christmas present.

It's just unfortunate that so many people had to go through this emotional torture these many months while this was being worked out."

Originally, even though over 700 people had been buried near their pets at the Hartsdale Pet Cemetery, the Cemetery Board had ruled human remains could not be buried in pet cemeteries.

The Board reversed their decision and made it legal as long as the service isn't advertised and there is no charge for it.

Kind of weird but we can totally understand wanting to be buried next to your loved ones.

Over 60 cats die in animal shelter fire

So sad!

More than 60 cats were killed during a fire at an animal shelter on Friday.

Firemen responded to a blaze at Last Hope Cat Kingdom in Atwater, California around 1 a.m., which they say was caused electrical failure.

The fire, which took 2 hours to get under control, took over 60 of the 140 cats housed at the shelter.

The deceased pets will be cremated and buried in a pet cemetery, while the surviving felines are being treated for smoke inhalation at an animal medical center.

Such a tragedy, but we're happy at least half of the animals made it out safely.

Pet Cemetery Will Stay!

pet cemetery

After pet owners threatened to chain themselves to the front gates of the Arley Burt Pet Cemetery in Helena, Montana, officials have decided to leave the pet cemetery as it is.

Officials had planned to exhume and cremate the 1,200 dogs, cats, hamsters and rabbits buried there, because of a new hotel going up nearby.

The hotel owner has said that she is OK with keeping the cemetery there.

GOOD! Pets deserve their resting place too!

What do U think?
