Pharrell Supports Ellen DeGeneres' Decision To Cancel Kim Burrell's Performance As Singer Shares Loving Message With The Host — Watch!
As you probably know, there was a bit of controversy around Ellen DeGeneres' show recently when the host canceled Kim Burrell's performance following a homophobic sermon she gave that popped up online.
Well despite Kim not appearing on the show, Pharrell, who was supposed to perform with Miz Burrell, still stopped by and he TOTALLY supported Ellen's decision and talked nothing but love and acceptance!
While the 43-year-old was originally on the show to promote Hidden Figures, the new Taraji P. Henson movie he's producing and singing on the soundtrack, the subject of course shifted to the controversy around the gospel singer.
When DeGeneres addressed what happened recently and why Pharrell would be performing a different song on her show, the singer responded PERFECTLY, saying:
"There's no space, there's no room for any kind of prejudice in 2017 and moving on. There's no room. She's a fantastic singer, I love her, just like I love everybody else and we all got to get used to that. We all have to get used to everyone's differences and understand that this is a big, gigantic, beautiful, colorful world and it only works with inclusion and empathy. It only works that way."
