no title

It's been over four months since Philando Castile was shot dead by police in Minnesota, but we're happy to say at least one black life officially matters in America.

That's because St. Anthony Police Officer Jeronimo Yanez was officially charged with manslaughter on Wednesday — with two additional felony counts of dangerous discharge of a firearm, just to be safe.

As you hopefully remember, the 32-year-old cafeteria worker was killed by the cop during a routine traffic stop on July 6. However, the story only really took off once his girlfriend Diamond Reynolds started streaming his murder on Facebook Live — right in front of her 4-year-old daughter!

Ramsey County Attorney John Choi condemned Jeronimo's use of deadly force while announcing the charges, saying:

Philando Castile & The Cop Who Shot Him Had Met Before!

Another wrinkle of the Philando Castile tragedy has been revealed…

As you'll remember from early this month, Castile was shot and killed by St. Anthony, Minnesota police officer Jeronimo Yanez during a traffic stop when the officer thought the 32-year-old cafeteria supervisor was going for a gun rather than his wallet.

And even as the national outrage generated from that unspeakable tragedy has begun to die to down, we just learned another notable detail about the shooting: Castile and Yanez had crossed paths before.

The city of St. Anthony released Castile's driving record late Thursday night, revealing that on November 23, 2011, Yanez was one of the officers listed as booking Castile into jail after he was pulled over in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, for driving with a broken tail light.

During the stop, Officer Yanez and his colleagues found Castile had been driving on a revoked license, and they arrested him.

It is unclear what role the officer played in that arrest, considering there were multiple officers listed on the report, but he clearly had dealt in some way with Castile less than five years before shooting him during a traffic stop this month.

Just a coincidence? A chilling footnote in an already tragic case? We may never know…

Let's see how the people try to spin this one…

It's no secret racism is alive and well in America — and we're not even talking about the Republican National Convention's intern pic!

No, we're unfortunately talking about YET ANOTHER instance of police shooting an unarmed black man for literally no reason… but this case out of Miami may finally effect some real change.

Video: Beyoncé, Rihanna, & More Share Powerful #BlackLivesMatter PSA

That's because while Alton Sterling and Philando Castile's deaths were caught on camera, neither were able to share their sides of the story… but luckily, the latest victim of police brutality survived.

47-year-old Charles Kinsey works as a behavior therapist to autistic and other special needs young adults in North Miami, but when a 23-year-old patient wandered away from their group home on Monday, neither probably expected to get shot.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened when cops

This is some powerful stuff.

If you've been paying attention to national news lately, then you're aware that America is currently suffering from an increase in black deaths at the hands of police.

While victims like Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, Sandra Bland, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, and Trayvon Martin may never get justice at this rate, Alicia Keys is done with seeing her brothers and sisters gunned down by people who are supposed to be there to help.

That's why the singer teamed up with Mic.com to create #23Ways, a public service announcement that highlights just some of the ways black people can be killed on a daily basis.

But Alicia couldn't just do this alone… she recruited help from Beyoncé, Rihanna, Chris Rock, Taraji P. Henson, Pink, Janelle Monáe, Pharrell, Common, Rosario Dawson, Queen Latifah, Kevin Hart, Lenny Kravitz, Zoë Kravitz, Jada Pinkett Smith, Bono, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Levine, A$AP Rocky, Chance the Rapper, Talib Kweli, Swizz Beatz, Van Jones, and Tracee Ellis Ross to make this the most star-powered PSA possible!

Five days later and still no justice…

Diamond Reynolds had the unbelievable misfortune of recording her boyfriend's death last week, but she and Philando Castile's friends and family sure are lucky she did.

That's because lawyers for Jeronimo Yanezthe man who shot and killed the 32-year-old cafeteria worker for having a "wide nose" on Wednesday — are trying to say he was simply reacting to "the presence of [a] gun."

Luckily, the mother-of-one streamed Philando's death on Facebook Live, which not only proves that Phil did NOT have a gun in his hands when he was shot, it makes her series of events pretty difficult for Minnesota police to refute.

For some reason or other (i.e. racism), the St. Anthony Police Department has yet to formally charge Jeronimo for Philando's death, so Diamond and her attorney stopped by MSNBC on Monday to share her side of the story with Tamron Hall in her first official sit-down with the press.

We cannot imagine what was going through Diamond's mind when she realized "it was gonna be law enforcement's word over [hers]", but we applaud her for being so brave!

Solange Condemns Police Brutality As She Joins Baton Rouge Black Lives Matter Protests!

Take note, Beyoncé!

Solange isn't the only celebrity speaking out about the Black Lives Matter movement following the recent high profile police killings of black men… but she is one of the few actually doing something to help.

That's because the 30-year-old R&B singer and her husband Alan Ferguson were spotted taking part in peaceful protests in Baton Rouge over the weekend in honor of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

But that's not all — while Solange's in-person appearance showed how important equal rights truly are to her, she made sure to drive that point home on social media with a message against police brutality on Twitter!

In a series of tweets on Sunday, Solange recounted how the only violence she experienced while walking in the Louisiana march on Saturday came from authorities, saying:
