Great news!

The Los Angeles Unified School District is the GRAND PRIZE winner of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine's 2011 Golden Carrot Awards!

The school district is leading the nation in innovative food service by eliminating junk food in favor of fruit, vegetable, and healthy plant-based meal options.

As a reward for encouraging their students to eat healthier by offering vegetarian, low-fat, whole grain, and non-dairy options, the PCRM will reward the El Lay school district's food service program $3,000!

Doctors aren't the only people taking notice of the healthy menu changes either.

Billboard Near Green Bay Packers Stadium Warns Cheeseheads

Cheese Ad

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, who attacked hot dogs at the Indianapolis 500 earlier this year, has set their sights on Green Bay, Wisconsin's favorite export — cheese!

The controversial health organization is placing an ad (above) depicting the Grim Reaper wearing a cheesehead hat right next to Green Bay Packer's stadium, Lambeau Field, in time for their game against the Denver Broncos this Sunday.

The football pun reads, "Warning: Cheese Can Sack Your Health. Fat. Cholesterol. Sodium."

This comes after they wrote Green Bay Mayor James Schmitt a letter requesting that he require warning labels on the high-fat cheesy food sold at the stadium.

Considering the largest privately held cheese company in the WORLD is located in Green Bay, he's not budging. Instead, he said this:

"We are going to protect and defend the cheese industry. We love our cheeseheads and we love our cheese."

We'll agree that too much cheese can be bad for you, but so is too much of most foods Americans consume on a regular basis.

We have a feeling this won't sway too many Green Bay fans from indulging in the cheesiest foods the snack stands at Lambeau Field have to offer!

Does this ad make U think twice about consuming cheese?
