The attack at a San Bernardino office party is already one of the worst mass shootings in American history, but it turns out things could have been even worse.
The husband and wife suspects who were gunned down in their SUV after fleeing the Inland Regional Center on Wednesday had more weaponry than you could possibly imagine.
After the SBPD shot and killed Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 27, they discovered over 1,600 rounds of ammo in their vehicle.
In addition to that unimaginably high number, police found 3,000 more bullets in their home outside of Redlands, as well as 12 home made pipe bombs.
We already knew that three bombs attached to each other were found at the IRC, but apparently the detonator was also located in the SUV — luckily, it failed to trigger, most likely due to distance.
The married assailants killed 14 people, injured another 21, and are said to have ties with suspected terrorists, but we're just thankful the amount of casualties wasn't higher.
Our thoughts continue to be with everyone affected by the murders.
