Rashida Jones Says She Didn't Exit Toy Story 4 Because Of John Lasseter — But Over 'Philosophical Differences' With Pixar!

no title

Rashida Jones did exit Toy Story 4 early on in the project's development, but it wasn't because she was creeped out by Pixar co-founder John Lasseter.

The Angie Tribeca star and her writing partner Will McCormack issued a joint statement on the nature of their departure from the animated film following Lasseter's announcement that he will be stepping down from his position as head of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation.

After the animator's memo to staff went public, multiple allegations surfaced detailing years of Lasseter making his employees uncomfortable with unwanted hugs and inappropriate touching.

One source even claimed that Jones and McCormack left Toy Story 4 early on after Lasseter made an "unwanted advance" toward her.

The writing duo clarified the rumors on Tuesday, admitting it wasn't Lasseter that made them exit the project, but Pixar's general treatment of female and minority employees.

John Lasseter's Alleged Misconduct Exposed! Did Rashida Jones Exit Toy Story 4 Over An 'Unwanted Advance' From The Pixar Co-Founder?

Sounds like Disney has been using all its Fantasia brooms to sweep years of in-house drama under the rug.

On Tuesday, John Lasseter stepped down from his position as head of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation after acknowledging "missteps" in which he made his employees "feel disrespected or uncomfortable" over the years.

After the executive shared the memo to his staff, tongues began to wag about the type of environment Lasseter ran at the imaginative company — which, according to sources, included lots of inappropriate touching. Though it wasn't just company employees Lasseter apparently made feel uncomfortable.

According to a Hollywood Reporter source, Rashida Jones — who is credited as a writer on Toy Story 4 with her then-partner Will McCormack — exited the project early on after Lasseter made an unwanted advance toward her.

Disney declined to comment on the alleged incident, however a studio source told THR that Jones's departure was over "creative differences."

Unlike Jones, unfortunately, Pixar employees couldn't walk away from the co-founder's alleged behavior. One longtime company employee said Lasseter was just as well known for hugging employees as he was for "grabbing, kissing, making comments about physical attributes."

Multiple sources say some women at Pixar routinely turned their heads quickly when encountering him to avoid his kisses. Others even used a move dubbed "the Lasseter" to

No! Not John Lasseter!

The director of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 is stepping down from his position as head of Disney Animation after what he calls "missteps."

Apparently Disney has handled all of this in-house as we hadn't even heard anything about it before he released a memo, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.

Will Cars 3 Finally Be A Worthy Sequel? Get Ready With Our Ranking Of All 17 Pixar Movies!

When in doubt — go Rocky!

That's what it looks like Pixar is going for based on the uncharacteristically dramatic trailer for Cars 3!

The film features a seasoned Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) finally meeting his match: hotshot Jackson Storm (Armie Hammer), who threatens the title of fastest car in the world with the help of cutting edge technology.

Older fans will recognize this story straight out of Rocky IV, in which the world's greatest boxer Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) meets his match: the technology-trained Russian destroyer Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren).

This spiritual remake might actually be a good direction for the Cars series. It worked for Toy Story 3, which was basically Shawshank Redemption that took place in a prison-like daycare.

Then again, nothing could be worse than the flat tire that was Cars 2 – widely regarded as the worst Pixar movie of them all!
