The move will made in conjunction with the people who own Star Wars - Disney - and the announcement was made this past Thursday when the AH-mazing new trailer dropped!
Here's what one VP-Marketing for Lucasfilm said:
"We're excited to be involved in this collaboration with ANA, one of the world's leading 5-star airlines. We're proud of the innovative R2-D2 design, and we look forward to witnessing the first-ever flight of a passenger aircraft featuring a Star Wars character. We're confident that Star Wars fans around the world will absolutely love this design."
Seriously, how cool would it be to ride in an airplane that has the likeness of R2-D2!
Way better than if it was C-3PO! That guy never shuts up!
Check out a video of how the airplane will be down (below) !!!
It's been more than a week since Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz deliberately crashed a plane into the French Alps, killing all 150 passengers on board, and we're just now starting to learn more about the days leading up to the horrific incident.
New information on Andreas' iPad search history reveals the 27-year-old was plotting his mass murder suicide for about a week before the crash. In fact, investigators say he was researching different ways of committing suicide as well as the security measures of cockpit doors. Andreas reportedly locked the other pilot out of the cockpit before he intentionally crashed the plane.
This comes shortly after it was revealed the Andreas had a history of mental illness and was months away from losing his license.
While more information continues to be released on the crash, Germanwings is doing everything in its power to return to normal as their planes are finally back in the air, and pilots are making an effort to win back their passengers' trust.
