The former Lost star launched the Ian Somerhalder Foundation back in 2010, which he hopes will educate people on how important it is to take care of the world and animals, and while it's been going strong for three years, he's now opening up about why he started the organization.

Mickey Mouse has transcended international fame — he's now a UNIVERSAL superstar!
A collection of craters have been discovered on Mercury that overlap to form a GIANT picture of Disney's most recognizable cartoon character.
The image was taken by NASA's Messenger probe, which will be orbiting the planet until March 2013 as it continues to collect images from the surface of the planet when the sun is near the horizon.
The man on the moon mouse on Mercury has a head that measures roughly 65 miles in diameter with two smaller, but disproportionate ears.
Very cool, don't U think?

Ento, a start-up company in London, wants to turn people's reaction from "yuck" to "yum" when it comes to eating insects.
Since "global food demand is accelerating and agricultural productivity can not keep up," Ento wants to introduce edible insects into the mainstream in an effort to make the planet more sustainable.
Sounds gross, but they actually make a pretty good point

Researchers in the United Kingdom believe they have pinpointed the "Achilles' Heel" of malaria, a mosquito born disease that kills one child in Africa every 45 seconds.
Since the disease is spread by a parasite that invades human red blood cells, scientists believe they can create a vaccine to block the infection by focusing on a red blood cell receptor essential for malaria to develop.
Although there is no vaccine yet, experts are calling the discovery a "breakthrough" that has the potential to wipe malaria off of the planet.
Check out the video above for all the details on the science that may finally end of the world's deadliest diseases!
