Women Dress In The Handmaid's Tale Costumes To Protest Senate's Awful Health Care Bill Proposal!

Preventing life from imitating art.

Hulu's acclaimed drama series The Handmaid's Tale shows a dystopian future where women are stripped of their basic rights — and ladies are using this eerily timely tale to send a message to congress.

On Tuesday, about 30 women stormed Washington D.C. dressed in long red robes and white headpieces to protest the Senate's GOP health care bill.

The dramatic wardrobe was inspired by the robes worn by the handmaids themselves in the series based on the 1985 novel by Margaret Atwood.

The protesters believe the Obamacare replacement bill — which proposes to cut federal funding for Planned Parenthood for one year — will severely cripple women's care. And their message has been received loud and clear!

The Senate had hoped to vote on the bill before July 4, but Majority Leader Mitch McConnell revealed Tuesday the vote would be delayed.

The spectacle also caused a good amount of buzz on Twitter. See more pics (below)!

Every Woman In America Needs To See This!

Donald Trump is willing to spend billions on a wall separating us from Mexico but not a dime on women's health.

Just last month he signed a bill allowing states to defund Planned Parenthood centers. They've been closing left and right thanks to funds being withheld. Wyoming recently lost the only one in the entire state.

But the biggest threat Planned Parenthood is facing is the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Among the myriad awful things it does, the current bill includes a provision that keeps people with Medicaid from accessing their care.

So it's more important than ever before for everyone to understand just what this organization does for women.

Thankfully, the incredibly talented Joss Whedon has found a way to show it in less than three minutes. And it's powerful stuff.

Julianne Moore, Scarlett Johansson, and Tina Fey joined many of their peers at the event, making it as glamorous as any movie premiere.

They also dressed the part, with Julianne in a high-neck lace dress and her hair pulled back, while ScarJo brought some much-needed color via a light blue and black lace gown cinched in with a leather belt.

Tina was the most inconspicuous of all in simple embroidered A-line dress and dotted panty hose.

As for Hillary? She slayed in a lavender and pink dotted blazer and beige slacks. Very on theme!

Scarlett Johansson Defends Herself Against Whitewashing Claims: 'I Would Never Attempt To Play A Person Of A Different Race, Obviously'

Scarlett Johansson and the makers of Ghost In The Shell have faced a lot of criticism for being another example of Hollywood whitewashing.

In the film, ScarJo plays a cyborg called The Major (a character whose name in the original manga was Motoko Kusanagi), a role many have argued should have gone to a Japanese actress.

Now the Avenger is finally responding to the criticism by pointing out she's definitely not trying to play an Asian character.

Maybe he isn't Mariah's OTP after all…

Nick Cannon is typically one of our favorite outspoken celebs, which is why we were overjoyed when he shared his baby news last week while chatting with The Breakfast Club!

Chelsea Handler Reveals She Had Two Abortions When She Was 16

Chelsea is opening up.

Chelsea Handler is getting very honest.

In a recently released essay for Playboy, the funny lady openly admitted that she had not one, but two abortions at the age of sixteen.

In the personal confession, the talk show host opened up about when she first got pregnant at that young age, saying that she didn't even consider terminating the pregnancy:

"I was going through a very bad stage in my life. I hated my parents and I was having unprotected sex with my boyfriend, who was not someone I should've been having sex with in the first place, never mind unprotected sex. I wasn't really playing with a full deck of cards, and when I got pregnant I just thought, Why not? I can have a baby. Maybe I'll have twins and give them rhyming names!"

But, the Netflix personality's parents brought her to Planned Parenthood because they felt — and Chelsea retrospectively agrees — that she couldn't raise a child by herself as a teenager.

The blonde beauty explained that she felt much better after the procedure, writing:

"I felt parented, ironically, while I was getting an abortion. And when it was over, I was relieved in every possible way."

Miz Handler then revealed that, within that same year, she got pregnant again by the same boy. However, the comedienne explained that she didn't have her parents' help this time around:

"I didn't have the money the second time. I had to scrape together the $230 to pay Planned Parenthood, but it was a safe abortion. Getting unintentionally pregnant more than once is irresponsible, but it's still necessary to make a thoughtful decision."

About 25 years later, the New Jersey native says she doesn't even slightly regret getting the abortions, adding:
