We are SO glad to hear him say this, and what he's promising could be a great step in reducing the amount of AIDs cases and deaths!

We're also really happy Obama decided to mention help preventing kids being born with AIDs, as that stigmatism should never be placed on a child's shoulders from the beginning. They had no choice in the matter!

All of us need to work harder on prevention, screening, and treatment!

Who's to say we can't pledge alongside him??

Note to other "philanthropists": If you pledge to make a donation to charity, you better make that donation!

Elton John is suing a Dubai-based banker, Spencer Lodge, who pledged to donate $1 million to the Elton John AIDS Foundation, but NEVER paid up!

The donation was supposed to be in exchange for a "date" with Elton and his partner David Furnish at the musician's White Tie and Tiara Ball.

The date apparently never happened, so we guess this banker felt he didn't need to hold up his end of the bargain. Although asked by several supporters of the foundation to pony up the money, he has yet to fork any of it up!

Clearly this guy thought he was making a transaction instead of a donation, so it will be inneresting to see how this plays out in court.

Do U think Spencer Lodge should still deliver the promised goods despite never having gotten his "date" with Elton and David?

Whoops!

During a promo for the US Open, NBC aired footage of a classroom of kids reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and omitted the part where they were supposed to say, “Under God.”’

After receiving some angry letters, NBC issued the following apology:

“We began our coverage of this final round just about three hours ago and when we did it was our intent to begin the coverage of this U.S. Open Championship with a feature that captured the patriotism of our national championship being held in our nation’s capital for the third time. Regrettably, a portion of the Pledge of Allegiance that was in that feature was edited out. It was not done to upset anyone and we’d like to apologize to those of you who were offended by it.”

Better not mess up again, NBC!
