Watch Usher Take On Police Brutality Again In Powerful All New Music Video For Chains!

Last year, Usher debuted a very powerful music video for his single Chains.

In the video, he forced viewers to confront head-on the black lives lost to the hands of police brutality, and sent an important message through his music.

Now, he's one-upped even that message, by releasing a NEW video for Chains — one that re-imagines himself as the victim of police brutality.

After releasing portions of it as a short film on Tidal, and teasing the video on Twitter, we've got the full version up this morning (above) — it's definitely an important work of art and a statement about society.

The song features Nas and Bibi Bourelly as the superstar singer takes police violence and makes it VERY personal.

What do U think of the new video?!

Justice hasn't been served yet, but at least this is a start.

The city of Baltimore has reached a settlement with the family of Freddie Gray over his wrongful death while in police custody back in April.

The settlement offer of $6.4 million will be voted on by the Board of Estimates, the city's overseer on spending and financial matters, on Wednesday.

However, according to Baltimore's mayor, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, the settlement offer has no bearing on the guilt or innocence of the six officers who are facing a trial over Gray's death. She told reporters:

You need to listen to this song.

Janelle Monáe is getting political with her new music.

The Electric Lady is joined by other artists at Wondaland Records — including Jidenna, Roman GianArthur, Deep Cotton, St. Beauty, and George 2.0 — on an intense track called Hell You Talmbout about police brutality towards African-Americans.

The song is supported by a marching drum beat throughout the emotional anthem, while the 29-year-old and her fellow artists chime in for the gospel-style chorus.

But probably the most intense parts are the verses, in which the singers scream out the names of various victims of officers who have used excessive force, mentioning Walter Scott, Jerame Reid, Phillip White, Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, Sean Bell, Freddie Gray, Aiyana Jones, Sandra Bland, Kimani Gray, John Crawford III, Michael Brown, Miriam Carey, Sharonda Singleton, Tommy Yancy, Jordan Baker, Amadou Diallo, and Emmett Till.

On Thursday, Janelle shared a snap of the song's artwork to her Instagram, and penned a powerful caption explaining the importance of this track:

Eric Garner's Widow Rejects New York's $5 Million Settlement Offer, Refuses To Be Bought Off By NYPD

Money alone can't fix injustice.

That's the message Esaw Garner is sending after rejecting the city of New York's $5 million settlement offer in the death of her husband, Eric Garner.

Eric, of course, was killed by officers of the New York City Police Department last July — in fact, one year ago on Friday — after being stopped for selling cigarettes on the street.

The officers, while subduing Garner, choked him and those actions led to his death. Garner's haunting, famous refrain — "I can't breathe" — was memorialized during protests in the ensuing weeks.

The offer from the city comes at a time where Esaw must decide

police brutality chokehold seven month pregnant woman

What in the world is going on these days?!

Recently, a man named Eric Garner was taken down by police with a brutal chokehold… and ended up dying after the encounter.

Well, over the weekend, Rosean Miller, a seven-month-pregnant woman, was grilling in front of her apartment. An officer informed her that she couldn’t do that, and this is where the details get fuzzy. He reportedly said he needed to go into her home, and she didn’t let him, which is when the officer did the unthinkable.

So Unbelievably Horrible And Wrong: Police Officer Pepper-Sprays Non-Violent Occupy UC Davis Protestors.

We can't even begin to tell how absolutely disgusting and infuriating it is to see this kind of flagrant abuse of power.

Watch this truly disturbing video (above) from University of California Davis yesterday, which features police not only tearing down the tents of students partaking in the Occupy movement, but also Police Lt. John Pike walking down a line of students seated on the ground in an act of NONVIOLENT civil disobedience and - we can't even believe this actually happened - SPRAYING THEM DIRECTLY IN THE FACE WITH PEPPER SPRAY, which left at least one woman hospitalized with chemical burns.

WARNING: THIS IS VERY DIFFICULT TO WATCH.

There's no other way to describe this as anything other than police brutality.

And our country is far worse off than we could have ever imagined if this sort of behavior is allowed and ENCOURAGED by our government.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those young people who bravely and unrelentingly faced this abuse, and everyone who stood by, documented it, and said what we wish we had been there to say ourselves:

SHAME ON YOU.

Marine Takes On 30 Cops At Occupy Wall Street - And WINS!

This is absolutely incredible!

In light of the NYPD police brutality that has been going on with protestors at the Occupy Wall Street movement, a 24-year-old Marine veteran, already having completed two tours in Iraq, named Sgt. Shemar Thomas literally took on about 30 cops yesterday to chastize the unwarranted behavior on unarmed citizens!

Check it out (above)! It's EPIC!

And we have to say, pretty badass and inspiring!

We wish more politicians had this kind of experience and insight into the public!
