Good thing there's no police problem in America, right?

Melissa Boarts was threatening suicide over the weekend when her family decided to call 911 in an effort to get their daughter some help.

Apparently, the 36-year-old suffered from bipolar disorder and told her parents she was going to slit her wrists before getting into her car and leaving their home in Auburn, Alabama on Sunday.

Melissa's parents and twin sister tried to follow her, but eventually lost track of her SUV and called local police to intervene before she hurt herself.

However, when the officers finally arrived, instead of calming her down, they shot her to death when she aggressively exited the vehicle.

The family is now seeking legal action for their daughter's murder. Attorney Julian McPhillips released a statement on Tuesday, saying:

Last year, Usher debuted a very powerful music video for his single Chains.

In the video, he forced viewers to confront head-on the black lives lost to the hands of police brutality, and sent an important message through his music.

Now, he's one-upped even that message, by releasing a NEW video for Chains — one that re-imagines himself as the victim of police brutality.

After releasing portions of it as a short film on Tidal, and teasing the video on Twitter, we've got the full version up this morning (above) — it's definitely an important work of art and a statement about society.

The song features Nas and Bibi Bourelly as the superstar singer takes police violence and makes it VERY personal.

The settlement offer of $6.4 million will be voted on by the Board of Estimates, the city's overseer on spending and financial matters, on Wednesday.

However, according to Baltimore's mayor, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, the settlement offer has no bearing on the guilt or innocence of the six officers who are facing a trial over Gray's death. She told reporters:

The song is supported by a marching drum beat throughout the emotional anthem, while the 29-year-old and her fellow artists chime in for the gospel-style chorus.
