Although the poor are usually the economic class we assume eat the most fast food, a new study of 5,000 Americans has revealed the biggest consumer to be the middle class.

After studying data from surveys asking participants about restaurant dining habits, income, race, gender, age and education, researchers from the University of California, Davis, found that visits to fast food joints rose along with annual income up to $60,000.

Senior study author J. Paul Leigh believes the study proves fast food is not the only reason that poor people are more likely to be obese, explaining:

Conrad Murray Can't Afford His Own Lawyer!!

conrad-murray-cant-afford-lawyer.jpg

Rough times for Conrad Murray.

The doctor who was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson case is now unable to afford his own lawyer.

Even though, there was a time in his life where he earned up to $150,000 a month to act as MJ's doctor, it looks like Conrad is now broke as he has asked the court to appoint him a public defender to help him appeal his conviction.

He filed a notice appeal to the LA Superior Court on Tuesday.

And it looks like he's getting the not-so-friendly treatment in jail. His former lawyer saw that police had put him in handcuffs and leg chains and even handcuffed him to the table for their meeting, which is something that non-violent offenders have to experience.

Lame! Michigan $2 Million Lottery Winner STILL Using Food Stamps

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueSad Sad

Leroy Fick evil laugh

What a SLAP in the face to the poor!

Leroy Fick of Auburn, Michigan won a $2 million lottery prize 11 months ago, but still uses food stamps to pay for groceries.

Michigan senator Rick Jones is not happy about it either, saying:

"For Leroy Fick to continue to use a Bridge Card, paid for by the taxpayers, after winning the lottery, is obscene. What a waste of taxpayer money."

Unfortunately, there is nothing he can do about it! Leroy's blatant abuse of the social welfare program is completely legal.

Food stamp eligibility is based on gross income, but excludes liquid assets. Take a lucky guess what lottery winnings are considered?

As long as Fick's gross income stays below the eligibility requirement for food stamps, he can continue to abuse them as he sees fit.

Sounds like the biggest problem here, besides Leroy Fick (doesn't that just sound like a bad guy's name in a movie?), is the federal government's requirements for obtaining food stamps.

Fortunately, Sen. Jones is taking action, explaining:

"The department is asking the federal government for an immediate change (in policy). They're hoping this case will help the federal government act."

As for now, we think this Fick guy needs a visit from the ghost's of the lottery's past, present, and future!

There is already SO MUCH wasteful spending in the government, why continue to be a part of the problem when he could EASILY be a part of the solution.

Do U think this guy's greed is totally bogus or is it okay because it's legal?
