Eminem Surpasses GaGa As Most Popular Living Person On Facebook

eminem surpasses gaga in popularity on facebook

Are you going to quietly let this happen, little monsters? LOLz.

GaGa fans are going to have to step up their game, because Eminem has just surpassed Lady GaGa as the most popular living person on Facebook.

The rapper currently has nearly 29 million "likes," and if he keeps going, he'll even beat out Michael Jackson, who has the most Facebook "likes" overall.

Watch out, Em! Our wifey is NOT far behind at all. In fact, we took a look at those numbers, and GaGa only needs 11,153 more "likes" to take the lead again.

It's on!

Team Gaga or Team Eminem?

The Pope Says "Be Yourself" On The Internet

pope says be yourself online

Pope Benedict XVI loves us just the way we are as long as we have Christian names.

In a statement released by the Vatican today, the Pope "advised people to avoid giving 'in to the illusion of constructing an artificial public persona for oneself.' "

Here's what the Pope had to say in his statement:

The task of witnessing to the Gospel in the digital era calls for everyone to be particularly attentive to the aspects of that message which can challenge some of the ways of thinking typical of the web. First of all, we must be aware that the truth which we long to share does not derive its worth from its "popularity" or from the amount of attention it receives. We must make it known in its integrity, instead of seeking to make it acceptable or diluting it. It must become daily nourishment and not a fleeting attraction.

We agree with what the Pope is saying to an extent. Certainly, people shouldn't consume themselves with being popular online, and they shouldn't allow themselves to lose a sense of reality by spending ALL their time on the Internet.

As long as nobody is being hurt by it though, we don't see a major issue with adopting an online persona.

Everything in moderation.

What do U think about the Pope's Internet statement?

Sarah Palin's Favorability Rating Goes DOWN

sarah palin popularity is down

We're not surprised to hear this AT ALL.

Following the Arizona shooting, Sarah Palin's favorability rating has hit a new low at 38 percent.

Innerestingly enough, overall Sarah is not getting blamed for the shooting, but her popularity has taken a hit from her video response released last week where she accused "the media of manufacturing a 'blood libel' against her."

Looks like Palin supporters have immediately begun making the effort to repair as much damage as possible.

Here's what website Conservatives4Palin had to say about an online "moneybomb fundraiser" that they've started up:

“The purpose of the money bomb is to remind her of the strength of the support that she has in the face of the death threats and blood libel sent her direction in the aftermath of the Tucson tragedy."

We're thinking it's gonna be tough for Sarah to recover from her most recent popularity hit.

Given the way in which she's dealt with everything surrounding the Arizona shooting, our sympathies do NOT lie with her.

Thoughts???

And The Most Popular Movie On Twitter Is…

the hobbit is the most popular movie on twitter

The Hobbit!

That's right folks, as far as Twitter popularity is concerned, The Hobbit takes the shire cake.

Surprisingly enough, the #2 most popular movie being discussed on Twitter is the Buffy The Vampire Slayer remake, followed by the upcoming Superman film at #3, and The Dark Knight Rises at #4.

Sorry Christopher Nolan…guess Middle Earth, vampires, and men of steel are more inneresting than the future of Gotham City.

Apparently, if there WERE an Edward Scissorhands remake in the works, it would have taken Superman's spot at #3.

Hmm…who would be a good Edward? Will we incur the wrath of the masses if we suggest that Robert Pattinson might not be a bad choice as the young man with scissors for hands?

What movies have U been tweeting about?

The New York Times Is Giving E-Books Their Own Own Best-Seller List!

the-new-york-times-is-giving-e-books-their-own-best-seller-list

Wow! This is a pretty huge step!

Because of the growing popularity and sales of e-books, The New York Times announced yesterday that they will be publishing a best-seller list in both digitally published fiction and non-fiction!

Janet Elder, the editor of news surveys and election analysis for The New York Times, explains:

“We’ve had our eye on e-book sales since e-books began. It was clear that e-books were taking a greater and greater share of total sales, and we wanted to be able to tell our readers which titles were selling and how they fit together with print sales.”

Sam Tanenhuas, the editor of the Book Review, continues:

“To give the fullest and most accurate possible snapshot of what books are being read at a given moment you have to include as many different formats as possible, and e-books have really grown, there’s no question about it.”

Wow! It's amazing to us that so many people have opted for the iPad and Kindle in lieu of a good ole' hard copy!

We don't know…there's something about actual print on paper that we can't seem to tear ourselves away from!

What do U think?? Do U prefer e-books to regular books?

Jesse James To Shut Down West Coast Choppers

jesse james to shut down long beach west coast choppers shop

All right, Jesse. We get it. You no longer live in California.

Jesse James will shut down his Long Beach bike shop, West Coast Choppers, in an effort to focus on his shop out in Texas.

No word yet on what James will do with his burger place, Cisco Burger, which is located next to the shop formerly known as West Coast Choppers.

We're not sure if shutting down the long-time Long Beach staple is going to positively affect his popularity, but then again he's proven previously that his reputation is not a key factor when he makes decisions.

We wish him the best with his Texas shop, although we're thinking there MAY have been ways in which he could have kept WCC operating remotely.

What do U think about James' decision to shut down West Coast Choppers?
