The Minneapolis woman who recently tried to mail a 4-month-old puppy to Atlanta in a package has appeared in front of a administrative hearing officer to ask for the poor pup back!

Stacey Champion said in the hearing she was sending the dog to surprise her son for his birthday and blames the post office for the little mix-up, saying:

"They don't have a display of what should be shipped and what should not be shipped."

The U.S. Postal Inspector who was present at the hearing outlined postal service procedure and explained:

"When you present a package of the counter line, we always ask you 'is it perishable, hazardous, liquid, fragile?'"

We think a puppy MIGHT — and maybe this is just us — qualify as perishable and fragile.

Here is the real kicker though. When she WAS asked what was in the box, she told postal employees it was a toy robot!

Our minds are blown by the audacity of this woman.

Was she granted custody of the the dog that has been with Animal Control since the incident?

This is awful!

A Minneapolis woman has been charged with animal cruelty after trying to mail a puppy to Atlanta in a box!

What's worse, the box didn't even have air holes!

The pup was discovered on January 25th after 39-year-old Stacey Champion left the post office and her "package" suspiciously fell to the ground.

Postal Service employees opened up the priority mail package and found a panting puppy inside without any food or water!

Aww! Poor pup!

The 4-month-old poodle mix was taken into custody by the city's animal control and thank the Lord the woman is being charged with animal cruelty!

What was she thinking?!
