Ughhh this reunion is shaping up to be worse than a raging Rita Repulsa!
While we were initially super excited for a reunion of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, it seems because of past abuse by the show's producers, both the original Blue and Black rangers have REFUSED to participate…
And now the second incarnation of the Yellow Ranger AKA Karan Ashley is also not involving herself, but mostly because of the terrible way the reunion is being handled!
Ashley spilled MANY juicy deets about the under-construction reunion in a radio interview last week, ch-ch-check out an excerpt (above)!
During the on air chat sesh, Ashley revealed how the reunion offer was actually just a poorly written email AND that the pay for the gig was not even enough to cover the actual amount of time it would require.
She also claimed that even some of those who WERE excited about a reunion were then told they couldn't come because of budgetary issues!
Ugh, well this whole event is shaping up to be mega LAAAMMMEE! Why even bother?
Well this is NOT going to be a rad reunion at all!
Even though we were SUPER excited for a go-go Power Rangers reunion, it seems that not only is Blue Ranger David Yostbowing out because of the way the show's execs allegedly treated him for being gay, Black Ranger Walter Jones will also be absent from the party…
In fact, Walter was also reportedly abused on set!
The former Ranger recently shared:
"I'm very sorry to disappoint the fans as I would have loved to be a part of it. David, who I still keep in touch with regularly, is a very great guy and it would have been fun to work together again on something we helped originate."
Awwww, Power Rangers standing in solidarity! We love it!
It's such a shame to learn that David and Walter were mistreated, and not by some evil fictional Lord Zedd, but by real life people.
BUT, on the positive side, it's amazing how quickly things shift — if Power Rangers had been created today, we bet even one of the characters would be gay!
Although it'd be a total dream come true, a Power Rangers reunion ain't on the menu!
But a whole lotta dissing is being served up!
After executives tried to get the original cast to reunite for an episode of Power Rangers Megaforce, one of our fave heroes from back in the day put the kibosh on the possibility.
David Yost or as we all really know him, the Blue Power Ranger, apparently flat out refused to take part after enduring horrible timez on set in the past.
As an openly gay actor, he suffered verbal abuse from various people on set as he has claimed in the past that producers called him the f-word. He eventually quit the show in 1996 due to this, and it sounds like he wants to stay done with the show!
Buuuut…that might not quite be the case!
While that has been the report going around, David recently tweeted somewhat of a different explanation:
While One Direction are off traveling all over the States, one animator had a little free time on his hands…and transformed the boys into cartoons!
Though it’s just one of those things you HAVE to see for yourself, basically, the boyband is turned into superheroes — think the Power Rangers — and are called on to save the world!
Check out the HIGHlarious webisode of The Adventurous Adventures of One Direction (above)!!!
We have no words. The accents…the pussy magnet…ha!
The creative mastermind behind this little gem comes from the lead animator of Archer, Mark Parsons and we're sure Directioners would make it a hit if it were on Cartoon Network!
A long, long time ago, back in a decade called the 90s, the Power Rangers franchise was owned by Haim Saban, a man who became a billionaire overnight.
Disney swooped in and bought the rights to it some time ago, seeing the potential it could have in continuing it's live-action Saturday morning shows.
Then something happened (we assume Hannah Montanna) and the Rangers got shoved to the back of the line. Now, after six months of negotiations, Saban has been able to buy the property back and is already in talks with Nickelodeon to have a full on Rangers explosion on the network.
Not only are they looking to to producer 20 new episodes of the current series, but also open the Power Rangers library to play older episodes on Nicktoons.
Ugh! It would probably be painful to watch those earlier episodes! We imagine the production value wasn't as good as we remember it as kids!
We're sure there are some of you that disagree though.
The We Can’t Stop singer interviewed with Rolling Stone magazine for their July 4th issue, and revealed her fairly liberal thoughts on drugs and alcohol.
Given her stoner reputation, we’re not totally surprised. Though, when asked to clarify her penchant for weed, she said:
"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes... I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves."
That sounds fairly straightforward to us. Mileybird then went ahead to state that she thinks there are things much, much worse than a little bit of the green stuff:
"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana -- people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care... I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."
She added:
"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."
Well, Miley, marijuana isn’t exactly legal in California unless you have a prescription, so we’re not entirely sure what you mean. But, okay...
As for her transition from Disney teen idol to mature pop star, she said:
