A Woman Preserves Her Beloved Pooch

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueChihuahuaDogCrazzzzy

This is really freaky.

It's sweet, don't get us wrong. We can tell this woman really loved and misses her pet.

But to go as far as to take your dog to a taxidermist??

That's a bit much for us.

Smallpox Virus Preserved For Research

Smallpox preserved for research

There has been a worldwide debate on whether or not the last remaining samples of the smallpox virus, one of the deadliest diseases the world has ever seen, should be destroyed.

Since May 16, health officials from 192 countries have been meeting in Geneva, Switzerland to discuss a plethora of health issues, but began talks about the smallpox virus last Friday.

According to a press release, the World Health Assembly has decided "that the remaining stock of smallpox (variola) virus should be destroyed when crucial research based on the virus has been completed."

Meaning, researchers will have 3 more years to study the virus before discussing destroying the samples again. However, based on the history of these ongoing discussions since 1996, in 2014, researchers will most likely be granted another 3 years. Ha!

Lost Super Bowl 1 Tape Found!

What is now the biggest sporting event in America was once not such a big deal — or rather, not a big enough deal to save footage of it. Until recently, there was no footage saved of the first Super Bowl.

Fortunately, after years of searching, a tape of the first Super Bowl ever was found in a man’s attic and is being recovered and preserved at the Paley Center for Media in New York.

This is exciting! History is saved!
