Morgan Freeman Honored By AFI, Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

morgan freeman honored by afi

He's played the President. He's played God. He deserves some recognition.

Yesterday, Morgan Freeman was honored by the American Film Institute (AFI), who presented him with their Lifetime Achievement Award.

Celebs who attended the event to celebrate Freeman's achievement include Clint Eastwood, Helen Mirren, Tim Robbins, and Forest Whitaker.

Here's what Clint Eastwood had to say about Morgan, whom he referred to as "the greatest actor":

"He is the most effortless person to be around and to act. I don't know if it's proper to love another man, but this is as close as I'm going to get to it."

And here's what Morgan had to say when presented with his award:

"This is easy to take but hard to believe. Where I come from in Mississippi, they call this walking in high cotton. For me, heaven has always been about acting in the movies. I'm proud to be an actor, although for this one night, you've made me feel like a star."

He may not be a role model when it comes to his personal life, but there's no denying the fact that Morgan's a talented actor and was def worthy of receiving AFI's prestigious award.

What do U think? Did Morgan Freeman deserve AFI's Lifetime Achievement award?

LA Noire Is First Video Game Ever To Be Featured At Tribeca Film Festival

This definitely seems like a controversial move.

Check out the trailer (above) for Rockstar Games' LA Noire, which is scheduled to be featured at the Tribeca Film Festival.

This marks the first time EVER that a video game has been "a featured selection at the prestigious film fest."

We've come a loooooong way since Pac-Man, baby! LOLz.

Do U think this "revolutionary" video game deserves to be featured at Tribeca? Or should the prestigious film festival stick solely to films?
