Ratings for Oprah's network OWN are finally rising!
And it's all because of, well… Oprah!
Since she's been giving herself more face time on the network with her show Next Chapter and other primetime specials, February ratings have risen a pretty impressive 12% in primetime and 29% for the total day.
With her Joel Osteen interview, raking in a record 1.6 million viewers, and her special on Whitney Houston, Remembering Whitney: The Oprah Interview bringing in almost 1 million viewers, it seems that the channel has finally found its niche.
Basically, just keep Oprah on the air!
LOLz! We could have told ya that!
We're not going to lie: we're not making any plans next week. We're ending the month of January by planting ourselves firmly in front of the television and allowing the magic unfold.
Kicking off our week of primetime focus will be the 100th episode of Gossip Girl. There's going to be suspense, scandal, and did we mention — the return of Georgina Sparks!
But before we look forward, how's about a look back? In this EXCLUSIVE video straight from The CW, we reflect back on some of the most memorable moments in Gossip Girl history with some of the best verbal banter. Check out the video (above) to see a quoteable guide to GG!
Hey! They left out one very, VERY important sentence: "I'm Chuck Bass."
Simple, but SIGNATURE!
Ya hear that, GH fans? There isn't LOTS of hope…but there's still some!
Last week, ABC's president announced that the network hadn't made a decision yet about whether or not they'll be cancelling General Hospital.
Now, ABC's entertainment chief Paul Lee has confirmed that the network is considering the possibility of airing GH "as an evening summer series."
Intriguing idea! We have a feeling there are TONS of fans out there who would give anything for their favorite soap to live on!
What do U think? Should they continue GH as a primetime show???
But you know what? They would've pulled more if Joan Rivers was on the carpet.
Just saying — she packs a mightier punch than Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic put together! (We can't wait to hear what she has to say about the best and worst dressed on Fashion Police this week!)
Anyway, regardless of the hosts, people definitely tuned in to watch the pair chat with the stars and gawk at the designer wear. The telecast, which ran from 6pm-8pm EST, attracted nearly 1.7 million Total Viewers, scoring quite a significant gain in the time period, nearly tripling the prior four week benchmark and nearly doubling the network’s Primetime norm.
In other words:
ABC won Wednesday nights, as usual but each show saw an increase in viewers following season lows.
Modern Family returned to forma and saw a 5.6 rating after its December 7th season low, followed by Happy Endings' impressive 3.3.
ABC other shows, Suburgatory and The Middle also saw bumps as well.
Everybdy else? They're not feeling too good.
Now that Selena Gomez has dedicated her time to music, the Disney star is just itching to get back on the small screen.
After finishing her time on Wizards of Waverly Place, Selena wants to focus on finding herself a role on primetime television - and if she had it her way, it would just be like Friends!
