Not too long ago, we were excited to announce that the next Pixar project would be the first one to be directed by a woman.
It appears that this is no longer the case.
It looked like director Brenda Chapman had infiltrated the Pixar boys' club, but now sources are saying that the Prince of Egypt director is no longer attached to Pixar's upcoming project, Brave, and that she was "pushed aside from full directing a while back."
Looks like story artist Mark Andrews will take over Chapman's position, with the official announcement to come next week.
No word on the specific details regarding Chapman's departure from the project, but needless to say the gender issue is going to come up, given the fact that this would have been the first female directed Pixar project AND that Chapman was replaced with a male director who has very limited directing experience.
What do U think about this announcement? Do U think gender was an influence here?
