Chris Pratt Reveals He Only Gained Weight To Be Funny — But When The Pounds Stuck, They Caused Some Major Health Problems
We all knew Chris Pratt as the adorable chubby guy on Parks and Rec who was in love with April and said the darnest things!
But things went from 0 to 100 real quick when he showed off a fitter figure in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Throughout his acting career he changed his look a couple of times for films and different roles, but he kept his larger figure up for the popular NBC show.
However, with the constant weight gain comes quite a few health problems.
The 35-year-old opened up about his weight to Men's Health UK and said:
"I was impotent, fatigued, emotionally depressed. I had real health issues that were affecting me in a major way. It's bad for your heart, your skin, your system, your spirit.
I saw myself in an episode [of Parks and Rec] and in the matter of two moments very close together, I thought, 'Oh my God, I'm getting fat.' And then almost immediately I did something else and I thought, 'Holy crap, I've never seen myself funnier.' And I put the two together.
Being funny doesn't always have to equal to being fat!
Once Anna Farris' other half signed on for Zero Dark Thirty and got in shape for the role, he decided it was time for a change.
Chris went on to explain his weight fluctuation:
"I'd gone back and forth, lost weight for Moneyball, got fat again, then trimmed down for Zero Dark Thirty, then gained it all back again for Andy. That's when I saw Zero Dark Thirty and right after walking out I was like: 'I'm going to get in shape and I'm never going to be fat again.'"
And he's been in the best shape ever since then!
Sure, we'll all miss chubby Andy, but he'll always live inside of Chris… because you know, they're the same people. LOLz!
We're so glad the father of one took action and is taking care of himself!
