Spielberg Talks Lincoln, Robopocalypse, Tintin Sequels, And Jurassic Park 4!

steven spielberg talks new projects

Steven is keeping buuuuuuuuuusy!

During a recent interview, Steven Spielberg opened up about a bunch of his upcoming projects, and it sounds like he's got some fantastic stuff in the works!

Here's Steven on Lincoln and Robopocalypse (of course!):

"I just finished shooting a movie about Abraham Lincoln staring Daniel Day-Lewis which I am so deeply proud of. But because I am right in the middle of the editing of Lincoln, I’m not really going to speak and talk very much about that until the time is right to talk about it."

"And I’m making a science fiction movie probably in September called Robopocalypse based on Daniel Wilson’s book. It’s a cautionary tale about war between human beings and robots. It’s a big crowd pleaser, I think, a big action popcorn movie with a message. The message is actually in the popcorn! You have to get the popcorn, dig down deep in the bottom and there’ll be a message about what Robopocalypse is really about! And I have a couple of other plans which I don’t want to go into because they’re too far out of the horizon. But there’s a lot of work ahead, a lot of television my company is producing for some of the networks and some of the cable outlets. So I’m busy!"

More from Steven on Tintin sequels, the first of which is being directed by Peter Jackson:

Get More Time In Your Life By Getting Organized

Filed under: Exclusives!Advice

John Trosko

It's not quite time for your New Year's resolution yet, but with an hour lost in time and winter quickly approaching, it's not a bad idea to start reorganizing your life!

John Trosko, a professional organizer and blogger, is here to offer some simple tips that can not only make your life a little easier, but save you precious time during your busy daily schedule!

Night arrives earlier this week. The change in time signals an hour of less sunlight. This means we’ll all want to find ways do more in less time and cram more into daylight. A great way to gain more time in your home, work and school is to look at your daily routines and find simple ways to improve them.

A routine is something you do the same way every day without ever really thinking about it, it’s just the way you tackle a chore (brush your teeth, make breakfast for the kids, walk the dog). This November, the next two weeks are important to the Thanksgiving holiday. I challenge you to take a look at your daily routines and unearth small subtle ways to improve or add to them. Follow these tips and you’ll squeeze out a bit more time each day. What could you accomplish if you had an extra hour in your day?

- Wash your breakfast dish before leaving for school or work (so you’ll return home to a clean sink);

- Always make your bed as soon as you get out of it;

- Adopt a weekly schedule of filling your gas tank. “I always get gas on Thursday so I am ready to GO for the weekend”;

- Plan for the morning the night before (choose your clothes, unpack and repack your gym or school bag, make lunch);

- Don’t walk the dog; exercise the dog….commit to a specified walk time or distance that is a work-out for the both of you;

- Pack a healthy snack in your work or school bag (so late-day temptation does not make you grab something you know you shouldn’t);

- Use a bowl or hook to hold your keys (so you’ll save a few minutes searching for them);

- Place a recycling receptacle inside the front door for junk mail (don’t let it come past the door);

- Wear shoes in the house (and not slippers) while doing chores (signaling it’s “work” time);

- Store your TV remove in an attractive canister or box or just switch to one Universal device;

- Do it now, or do it later? Tackle projects that will take 2-minutes or less and just do them!

A few simple tweaks to your daily routine can make a big difference. Remind yourself how good you feel when you are more in control. Effective routines mean more “you” time!

What are some of your small habits you’ve changed or tweaked to gain more time each day? Tweet your November super time savers to @johntrosko or visit John’s blog OrganizingLA.

The Snow White Wars!

snow-white-films-at-war

The battle has begun!

As we've reported, there are two pretty big Snow White movies currently in production - one untitled and directed by Tarem Singh starring Julia Roberts, Lily Collins, and Armie Hammer via Relativity Media, while the other, Snow White and the Huntsmen, starring Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart, and Chris Hemsworth by Universal.

In an attempt to get the upper hand, Universal moved Huntsmen six months ahead to a June 1st release date, in order to beat Relativity's June 29th date, and now, it appears as the latter is lashing back, and has moved its release date all the way to March 16th!

Oh shiz! Things are going to get ugly!

Personally, as far as we can tell, we don't know what the fuss is about!

The Julia Roberts project is apparently family-friendly, while Huntsmen is supposed to be incredibly dark, so we imagine that despite the obvious comparisons, they'll have two very different audiences!

C'mon, guys! Try and play nice!

Or at least find more creative ways to try and sabotage each other! LOLz!

Just saying!

What do U think?? Which Snow White do U want to see??

Sad! People Of Color Shut Out Of All Major Oscar Nominations!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooFilm FlickersAwardz

academy-awards-snub-people-of-color

This is very unfortunate and disappointing.

Despite some very talented individuals receiving well-deserved nominations this year for Academy Awards, ZERO people of color were recognized in any of the major categories - including acting, writing, and directing!

Such a shame!

We sincerely hope that filmmakers keep this in mind during upcoming projects this year, because this should have never happened, and there will be no excuse if it happens again next year.

Slash Starts His Own Horror Movie Production Company!

Filed under: Music MinuteFilm Flickers

slash-to-launch-horror-movie-production-company-called-slasher-films

Wow!

We'd normally write this off as a crappy retread of Rob Zombie's transition into the genre, but it seems like he actually has some pretty inneresting ideas!

Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash recently announced that he plans to launch his own horror movie production company, which he's calling Slasher Films, and he already has FOUR projects in the works!

Nothing To Fear will reportedly be about the real town of Stull, Kansas, which many believe to be the 'gateway to hell,' while Theorem tells the story of a mathetmatician who discovers the equation for evil. Meanwhile, there's also Wake the Dead will be modern take on the Frankenstein story and focuses on a college student who learns how to animate dead tissue, and The Other Kingdom, which seems like a pretty by-the-books zombie flick!

Slash explains:

"What I want to do is bring back character-driven, dramatic, intelligent, humorous horror movies - horror movies that have some depth. Now it's all about the sensationalism and shock value."

Nice!

We definitely think that if done well, some of those flicks might actually be pretty good! AND scary!

We're looking forward to seeing what you produce, bb!

Nothing's more fun than a good horror flick!

What do U think?? Are U excited for Slash's new production company??

Arnold Is Back…In Movies!!!

arnold to return to movies

Terminator 5Commando 2Kindergaten Cop 2: First-Grade Cop! The possibilities are endless.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning to the big screen, but before we get that long-anticipated follow-up to Jingle All The Way, it looks like he's already got some serious projects on the horizon.

Here's what he had to say about his return to movies:

"I'm reading three scripts. One topic/script, which I considered a long time ago before governor, is delighting me particularly. I would play an older [German] soldier, who gets the order at the end of the war to kill a bunch of kids. But he doesn't do it and gets them to safety at the risk of his life. It has all kinds of adventure. The script is based on a true story."

Sounds very intense. But will we see Arnie in another Predator film?

"Throwing myself around the room and shooting people is no longer in there, [but] I'm like a sponge that soaks up knowledge and is constantly willing to learn new things."

We're certainly curious to see what direction you'll take with your acting career, Arnold…BUT it could also be fun to see you get your action movie on! Isn't it high time we witness the return of John 'The Eraser' Kruger?

Just sayin'!

Are U excited to see Arnold return to the big screen?
