Ridley Scott, the director of sci-fi epics like Blade Runner and Prometheus, is getting back to the basics and producing six low-budget films over the next three years.
Fans of the horror, thriller and science fiction genres should be excited because that's exactly the kind of movies his company, along with Orchard Media and Focus Features International, plan on making.
The iconic filmmaker, who just wrapped filming The Counselor with Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender, explained:

Ridley Scott is one tough hombre.
Two weeks after he took a hiatus from filmmaking to handle his brother's affairs after the late Tony Scott's tragic death - the Prometheus director is back behind the camera for his new movie The Counselor.
The director had left London for Hollywood where his brother killed himself.
The Counselor stars Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender and is wrapping up shooting in London before filming in Alicante, Spain.
Our condolences to Ridley and the Scott family.

Rachel McAdams is bringing her red hot heat to the screen next year when Brian De Palma's Passion hits theaters next year.
The sexually-charged thriller co-stars Noomi Rapace, the actress who aborted an alien in Prometheus, as a woman who has a thing for her boss lady.
That thing may be a little more dangerous than just a bi-sexual attraction too…
The first trailer for the American remake of the French film Love Crime (above) features a preview of McAdams' most erotic performance yet.
There's no rating yet, but since we see a glimpse of masked cunnilingus goin' down between the leading ladies, we have a feeling it will be a hard R!

If you enjoyed Prometheus, one of this summer's earlier blockbusters, then you'll be pretty happy to hear that Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace's adventure in space will continue.
Fox has plans to produce a sequel to Ridley Scott's Alien prequel after it grossed $303 million around the world.
Emma Watts, the studio's president, told sources:

We would never want to be lost at sea, but the first full trailer (above) for Ang Lee's adaption of Life of Pi makes it look pretty cool! As long as fish fly through the air, whales glow in the dark and the tiger we're sharing a lifeboat with is friendly, of course.
If you weren't impressed by the teaser that debuted in front of Prometheus last month, we think you'll be pleasantly surprised with this footage.
From the looks of it, the 3D will probably be pretty spectacular. In fact, it might actually be worth the price of admission for once.
Now if only Hollywood would do something about those annoying 3D glasses that continuously slide off of our faces. Can't this town create 3D contacts instead?

What's better than Michael Fassbender?
Fassy and Charlize Theron!
The South African actress shares the August issue of W magazine with her Prometheus co-star and we must say it's quite steamy.
Are U feeling the cover???

We knew Spider-Man was destined for solid numbers but we never expected it to beat rad reboots like X-Men: First Class and Casino Royale!
Making $65 mil domestically this weekend, Andrew Garfield even gave dark knight's a web facial!
His film earned a third more than Christian Bale's Batman Begins.
Still, Peter Parker's profits don't compare to The Avengers or even Prometheus and Spidey will certainly be outdone by The Dark Knight Rises.
Only ten years removed from Tobey Maguire's dance with a radioactive arachnid, we're surprised audiences enjoyed a nearly identical origin story.
Perhaps it's Garfield and Emma Stone's real life chemistry that kept theaters packed?
Do U think they are a seksier onscreen couple than Tobey and Kirsten Dunst??
