We previously mentioned that Ian McKellen has prostate cancer!

We even had quotes of him saying he's had it for a while now, six or seven years!

That is all apparently false.

Well, mostly false at least.

McKellen's agent spoke out on the story that was circulating the internet, and said:

Sir Ian McKellen has been living with prostate cancer for several years now!!

If he actively has cancer, it's amazing he was able to reprise his role as Gandalf in The Hobbit.

Regular exams are apparently enough to keep it in check.

Ryan O'Neal To Freeze Away Cancer

ryan-oneal-treatment.jpg

As we previously mentioned, Ryan O'Neal has stage two prostate cancer.

He's hoping that a new type of cancer treatment will work for him.

The new method, called cryopathy, is supposed to freeze the cancerous tumor off.

What a brave man.

Ryan said:

"It's a new method that has been developed… and they freeze the part of the prostate that's cancerous.

Hopefully, it freezes and then drops off but I don't know exactly what happens."

He will begin his treatment on May 10th.

We hope it works and wish him a speedy recovery.

Dick Clark Was Getting Prostate Surgery When He Passed

Dick Clark Prostate

As we said before, Dick Clark was actually in the hospital for outpatient surgery when he passed away due to a heart attack.

That surgery was actually a minor prostate surgery.

Here's what David Dreier, a close friend, said:

“He had very minor prostate surgery. All of a sudden, he got a feeling in his arm about 9:30 [Wednesday] morning and he was gone by 11:15. It turned out to be a massive heart attack.”

That is so scary, and so sad that it can happen just like that.

We'll miss you, Dick Clark! NYE will most surely never be the same!

Ryan O'Neal Has Stage 2 Cancer 'Under Control'

ryan-oneal-only-has-stage-2-cancer.jpg

Ryan O'Neal has opened up in an interview to Nightline and cleared the air on a few things.

He does in fact have only stage 2, not stage 4, prostate cancer.

It is "contained" and he plans on fighting it.

O'Neal said:

"I have it under control. I wasn’t prepared for it. I wasn’t ready for it. But you never are. I just sort of chalked it up, you know, to bad luck."

He's already had to deal with skin cancer when he had a melanoma on his nose.

He also experienced cancer with his former lover Farrah Fawcett, who died of cancer in 2009.

"Farrah taught me that — about fighting it, fight a good fight."

O'Neal will now move onto the next step in his cancer treatment, cryopathy, where doctors freeze infected tissue to try and stop the spread of cancer.

Seeing as how his cancer is only stage 2 and locally contained, hopefully this procedure works.

We wish Ryan nothing but the best and a speedy, full recovery.
