To quote Andrea Bocelli, it may be time to say goodbye for The Playboy Club!

Back in July, the Parents Television Council (PTC) called for NBC affiliates to NOT air The Playboy Club because it "glorifies and glamorizes" the pornography industry.

Then things got even worse for NBC's controversial new show when it premiered to weak ratings, with only 5 million people tuning in!

Now that the ratings have continued to go down, it appears that advertisers are listening to the PTC, and they're pulling their ads form the show. So far, 7 advertisers have dropped out!

Earlier today, we reported that the PTC is going after FOX and The X Factor for broadcasting this gentlemen's audition above. They've filed a complaint with the FCC, which probably joins a pile of complaints that come in every day from the PTC. We actally kind of feel bad for them.

This contestant, Geo Godley, has come forward to insist that not only was he not naked, but what he was wearing could be found simply by walking down the beach. Inspired by his Greek Island culture, Geo wore a G-string to his audition, adding:

Fans of MTV's Skins can get ready to see lots and lots of Clearasil ads!

After the Parent's Television Council (PTC) went on the warpath against Skins, many advertisers have bailed on the show, but Clearasil isn't going anywhere.

Here's what a spokesperson from Clearasil had to say about their decision to keep running ads on Skins:

"Clearasil buys advertising time in blocks and the networks slot our ads wherever they have free time."

"Clearasil does not endorse any specific show on any network, nor the personal views or opinions that may be voiced on such shows. Clearasil also does not pay for product placement in any shows."

Uh oh, PTC. We hope you guys have nice skin, because we're guessing a boycott of Clearasil products is next on your agenda. LOLs.

Porn, really?

Bored Housewives The Parent Television Council already called on the Department of Justice to look into whether the MTV’s Skins violated child pornography laws.

Now they’re asking the Attorney General to investigate whether the distribution of the show’s explicit content violates state law.

“It is unfortunate that we have reached the point of having to call for a criminal investigation into the production and distribution of an MTV show depicting minors in sexual situations,"

said PTC President Tim Winter

Nine major sponsors have pulled out, including Wrigley, Taco Bell and Subway.

The Parents Television Council is NOT happy about everything the rise of profanity on TV.

Today, they released their first study of the year, titled A Habitat for Profanity: Broadcast TV's Sharp Increase in Foul Language, which shows a 69.3% increase in profanity from 2005 to 2010.

Here's what PTC President Tim Winter had to say about it:

“Our analysis of the first two weeks of this still-new fall television season shows a disturbing trend that shocked even us. Profanity is far more frequent and the profanity itself is far harsher than just five years ago. Even worse, the most egregious language is being aired during the time slots when children are most likely to be in the audience."

Here are some other findings from the PTC:

Use of the bleeped or muted f-words increased from 11 instances total in 2005 to 276 instances in 2010 – an increase of 2,409%.

Use of the bleeped or muted s-word increased from 11 instances in 2005 to 95 instances in 2010 – an increase of 763%.

During the family hour, instances of the f-word increased from 10 in 2005 to 111 in 2010. Use of the s-word during the family hour increased from 11 instances in 2005 to 42 in 2010.

Out of all the networks, Fox is the biggest culprit, with a 269% increase of profanity usage per hour across all prime-time hours. No statement has been released from Fox yet but they'll probs just tell the PTC to go $@&% themselves.

All right, so people curse on TV more than they used to! At least profanity is better than violence!
