Bob Marley’s Daughter Designs Jamaican Olympic Uniforms!

cedella-and-usain-bolt.jpg

Jamaica's Olympians will be Jammin' in some fancy uniforms next month courtesy of Cedella Marley.

Bob Marley’s oldest daughter teamed up with PUMA to design the kits, which she says was a thrill:

“It is truly an honor to design this collection for my home country and my home team. It’s not even a dream come true because it’s something I never dreamed would be possible… To have a role in creating the outfits for our Olympians is a thrill. I admire what PUMA has been doing in Jamaica over the years and the Marley family has the same type of give-back philosophy. I think this partnership is going to be legendary.”

Fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt added:

"I can’t think of a better person to design our Olympic outfits than Cedella. PUMA got that right… hooking up with a legendary Jamaican. She’s a great designer but also carries on the spirit of our nation through the legacy of the Marley family. It’s going to be inspirational to run in London with that energy surrounding me.”

Cedella joins other designers like Ralph Lauren, Prada, Stella McCartney and Armani who have designed for the U.S., English and Italian teams.

You can see the entire Jamaican team wearing Cedella’s designs at the 2012 London Olympics, and preview some of them (below).

Puma's Animal-Free & Proud!

1-kimberly-walsh-puma-wet-shoot__opt.jpg

Big news!!!

After lengthy discussions with PETA, Puma has pledged to NEVER use fur or exotic animal skins in any of their products.

The sportswear brand's decision is receiving praise worldwide and they were even awarded the Compassionate Retailer Award from the animal rights' organization.

PETA's EVP Tracy Reiman says Puma going animal-free is HUGE:

"Every snakeskin shoe or piece of fur trim comes with a high price—and it's paid by animals who are driven mad in cages on fur farms or nailed to trees and skinned alive. When a company of Puma's prestige takes a tough stance against animal abuse, the entire industry and other businesses worldwide sit up and take notice."

We couldn't agree more! Hopefully more companies will follow in their footsteps!

What do you think about Puma's choice? Does it make you want to support them more???
