Sheesh, what a terrible mishap!! We can't even begin to imagine what Buckingham Palace's initial reaction was!
Check out the offending tweets (below)!
"BREAKING: Queen Elizabeth is being treated at King Edward 7th Hospital in London. Statement due shortly @BBC World.
Queen Elizabeth has died': @BBCWorld."
Yep, the BBC made a BIG oopsies.
According to the network, the tweets were accidentally sent during a test run for the queen's obituary. They explained:
"During a technical rehearsal for an obituary, tweets were mistakenly sent from the account of a BBC journalist. The tweets were swiftly deleted and we apologize for any offense."
Well, at the end of the day all that matters is that the royal is doing well!! The palace released the following statement regarding the Elizabeth's well-being, saying:
"The Queen had a routine pre-scheduled doctor's appointment. The queen has now left the hospital and carries on with her engagements."
What a relief! We're glad the 89-year-old is A-OK!
