Quentin Tarantino Made A MAJOR Factual Error In His Golden Globes Speech — And Twitter Is Calling Him Out On It!

As Django star Jamie Foxx might say, "Blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-alcohol!"

Quentin Tarantino delivered a touching speech on behalf of The Hateful Eight's composer Ennio Morricone when the film took home the Golden Globe for Best Original Score at Sunday's awards show.

The director praised the composer on stage, detailing how special this win was because Morricone had "never won an award for any one individual movie at a U.S. awards show."

But as Twitter was quick to point out, Tarantino was totally wrong!

Thanks to some quick fact-checking, movie buffs called out the filmmaker to confirm that Morricone had, in fact, won a few awards over his career!

The composer won two Globes — one for The Mission in 1987 and one for The Legend of 1900 in 2000!

(Morricone also earned an honorary Oscar in 2007, but that was not for "one individual movie.")

Unsurprisingly, fans took the opportunity to correct Tarantino's mistake, writing:

Time for more announcements!

Award season is here which means we get to find out what 2015 movies will be nominated!

While the Golden Globe nominations have already come in, as well as the SAG Awards, and the People's Choice Awards have already passed, it's time for some bigger award shows!

While the Academy Awards won't be announced until next week, the 68th Annual BAFTA Awards were announced via live-stream video this morning by Stephen Fry and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

Video: Check Out All The Highlights From This Year's People's Choice Awards!

The list is mostly what you'd expect, but there were a couple major surprises regarding snubs as neither Jennifer Lawrence or Tom Hanks were nominated. In fact, David O. Russell's Joy wasn't nominated at all!

Another arguable snub was British actress Charlotte Rampling who didn't receive a nomination for her romantic drama 45 Years despite there being buzz that she could land an Oscar nod this year!

Perhaps one of the most puzzling omissions though was Spectre which didn't receive a SINGLE nomination! The reason this is a bit of a shock is the previous Bond film, Skyfall, not only won Outstanding British Film in 2013, but it was nominated for eight total awards!

Ch-ch-check out the full list of nominees (below) and let us know who you think was snubbed!

As our nation makes progress into slowly wiping away traces of the Confederate flag, Quentin Tarantino says it's "about damn time."

The director's latest film The Hateful Eight reflects race relations in the U.S. right after the Civil War.

And while the film takes place well over a hundred years ago, the director noted how recent events made the film "more relevant than we ever could have imagined."

The filmmaker discussed the impact of incidents like the Charleston shooting and the 2014 death of Michael Brown, and was surprised when state capitols began wiping away traces of the confederate flag — a symbol that Tarantino calls an "American swastika."
