Quick Tip from Perezitos.com’s Dr. Peter L. Richel, M.D., Chief of Pediatrics at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco:
"In addition to being supportive of you, the father-to-be must prepare for parenthood as well. He should take some time to do his own reading about how to care for a newborn. Ask your obstetrician about the availability of prenatal classes, usually offered by his or her office or at your local hospital. Also avail yourselves of a tour of the labor and delivery suite at the hospital where you plan to give birth. Being in good physical shape is important for both of you, as nights can be demanding in the first few weeks of your baby's life with you. Get him to exercise with you."

Quick Tip from Perezitos.com’s Dr. Peter L. Richel, M.D., Chief of Pediatrics at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco:
"Stretch and Grow
Regular exercise should begin before you become pregnant. If not, start right away! You need to be in shape for labor and delivery. Everything in moderation, though. Begin slowly and make 30 minutes a day your goal. Swimming and walking are wonderful ways to stay in shape for delivery and beyond. Stretching is vital as well and can be accomplished through yoga."

Perezitos.com mommy expert Candid Mommy’s Quick Tip:
"Plan to break down on the side of the road! I always keep a few essentials in each car… spare diaper, change of clothes (extra jacket in the winter, sunscreen in the summer, etc.), water, a few protein bars, extra socks a flashlight, etc. As amazing as our smart phones may be they don't fix hungry while you're waiting for a lift!"
