Quick Tip Of The Day!

Perezitos Quick Tip

Quick Tip from Perezitos.com’s Dr. Peter L. Richel, M.D., Chief of Pediatrics at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco:

"A well-balanced diet is necessary, both for yourself and for your baby. A healthy weight gain during pregnancy is 25 to 35 pounds.

Remember all the food groups as you plan meals; refer to www.mypyramid.gov. Vegetarians may continue their diet, but be certain to take in enough protein and supplement vitamin D, iron, and vitamin B12. Water is essential for you to maintain good hydration."

Perezitos Quick Tip

Perezitos.com mommy expert Candid Mommy’s Quick Tip:

"Make bath time bathroom clean up time!
If you have a child who is able to bathe alone take advantage of this time! Wipe down your counters, gather laundry, refill toilet paper/Q-tips, fold your laundry, etc. Of course it should go without saying- never leave your child unsupervised in the bath but if they've reached that independent mark repurpose that time and keep your bathroom sparkling!"

Perezitos.com's dietician and mommy contributor Lisa DeFazio's Quick Tip:

"The way you present and serve healthy food to kids will get them to eat it! As the mother of a 6 year old, I have some tips on getting you child to eat healthy! Serve carrot sticks with a ranch dip, buy some fun, colorful plates, utensils and cups with their favorite characters, cut the food in smaller pieces-especially chicken and beef, let them dip their food in their favorite condiment like ketchup, do not overwhelm them with large portions."

Perezitos Quick Tip

Quick Tip from Perezitos.com’s Dr. Peter L. Richel, M.D., Chief of Pediatrics at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco:

"You should schedule regular visits with your obstetrician, with the same doctor, to assure good continuity of care. Prenatal vitamins are also a must as a dietary supplement for your health and the health of the growing fetus. Routine lab work will be advised during the pregnancy to monitor your status."
