These Father's Day Letters Written By Chris Cornell's Widow & Daughters Will Leave You In Tears

chris cornell remembered on fathers day

Father's Day wasn't a happy day for everyone.

Chris Cornell's widow and daughters had a particularly tough time commemorating the holiday as it was the first without the Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman, after he shockingly took his own life back in May.

Nonetheless, the late rocker's legacy is living on thanks to his children and his wife. Both of Cornell's daughters, named Toni (12) and Lillian Jean (17), took to the Black Hole Sun singer's Facebook page on Sunday in order to pay tribute to their deceased poppa. How heartbreaking.

Be sure to take a look at their poignant letters to Chris for yourself (below).

U.S. Student Otto Warmbier Dies Days After He Was Released From North Korean Detainment

Last week, U.S. student Otto Warmbier was medically evacuated from North Korean detainment, where he had been in a coma for over a year from serving hard labor.

Sadly, the 22-year-old passed away just a few days later while surrounded by family in Cincinnati.

Otto's parents Fred and Cindy Warmbier made the devastating announcement on Monday, saying the "awful torturous mistreatment" their son received while detained abroad "ensured that no other outcome was possible."

Last year, the University of Virginia student was found guilty of "subversion" for attempting to steal a political banner while staying in North Korea with a tour group. He was sentenced to 15-years of hard labor for the alleged anti-state acts.

Doctors at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center said Otto had extensive loss of brain tissue, and was in a state of unresponsive wakefulness.

While no doubt grieving the loss of their son, Otto's parents said they detected a positive change in his mostly non-responsive state over the past week, saying "he was at home and we believe he could sense that."

Our hearts go out to the Warmbier family.
