A week and a half after Mindy McCready's tragic suicide, the late country star was laid to rest in a funeral held in her hometown of Ft. Myers, Florida earlier today.

The public funeral welcomed 400 mourners to Crossroads Baptist Church after the troubled singer put a single gunhot into her head.

A portrait of Mindy and white roses decorated the stage that presented Mindy's casket as her music was played along with a montage of her life.

Family, friends, and fans were then graced with words from Mindy's mother, Gayle Inge.

In her heartfelt eulogy, Gayle said:

What an incredibly sad day.

Anyone who is familiar with Hugh Hefner, Playboy, or even just The Girls Next Door, also knew about his very close friendship with his longtime secretary Mary O'Connor, who was frequently featured on the reality series and largely considered to be a part of his, ahem, 'unconventional' yet very loving family!

However, it's with a heavy heart that we must report that the woman who dedicated over 40 years the founder of the gentleman's magazine has passed on, leaving not only Hef devastated, but many of his current - and former - love interests with whom she cultivated very close relationships.

Joseph L. Pompeo passed away this past Saturday, and the funeral mass is being held today in Massachusetts.

Our hearts go out to the Farrelly brothers and the rest of their family.

Director Bobby Farrelly, who co-directed Something About Mary, Dumb & Dumber and the upcoming The Three Stooges lost his 20-year-old son, Jesse due to apparent overdose.

In a joint statement Bobby, wife Nancy and daughters Tiffany and Anna said:

"It is with profound sorrow that we accept the passing of our beloved Jesse following his struggle with addiction. We fully trust that he is now in the hands of our Lord. We are immeasurably grateful for the abundance of happiness and laughter he brought into our lives, and we will rejoice eternally for all the moments we got to breathe in his wondrous spirit. The family thanks you for your well wishes and kindly asks that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

His passing was Wednesday night after he was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Though autopsy results have not yet been released, the 911 call reportedly referenced a possible overdose.

No matter what the circumstances, losing a child is the hardest thing any parent person can go through.
