Pirates Continues To Dominate Worldwide Box Office, Passes $400 Million Mark!!!

pirates 4 hits 400 million worldwide

Guess the 3D factor didn't hurt the movie too much.

Over the weekend, Johnny Depp and Disney once again delivered with Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which achieved the biggest international opening of all time!

Looks like thar be more records to broken, because yesterday the movie officially passed the $400 million mark at the worldwide box office! AND in less than a week in release!!!

The Hangover II may slow it down a little bit this weekend, although families aren't TOO likely to take their kids to see the hard R-rated sequel, so Pirates' momentum might not slow down much at all…in fact it COULD pick up steam! It's Memorial Day weekend after all!

Do U think Pirates will continue to dominate at the worldwide box office? Any chance it will beat Hangover II this weekend???

R-Rated Puppet Movie In The Works!

R-Rated Puppets? You’ve got our attention!

The English language Swedish film We R Animals will be the debut film of Thobias Hoffmen, and it hopes to go into production in 2011. We hope it does too!

They recently shot test footage in an effort to entice investors. We hope it works, because we can tell you we’re totally enticed!

Here’s what the director has said about the project:

Most characters in the movie will be played by hand puppets, with animatronic faces. The same kind of dolls that were used out to include Gremlins and Labyrinth. The only characters who are not puppets are people in the film, but you can count on one hand. The style of the movie, I would best describe with the words “a live-action version of a cartoon world.” A bit like an adaptation of a graphic novel. It is our world, yet not. As a living painting by CM Coolidge, which is drawing everything to a head.

And here is the official plot synopsis:

Snow White the rabbit is stuck in a sadistic man’s pet store, she craves for love but nobody wants to take her home. But one day the animals wreck havoc and they all escape, including Snow White. She gets lost with her newfound freedom and almost dies, until the nice old lady Alice saves her. Snow White would’ve had a bright future if not for Alice’s jealous and vindictive dogs, who call on their friend Flash, a shady and devious pimp cat. Together they plan to transform Alice’s apartment into a brothel for animals, and force Snow White and even the human Alice into prostitution.

We R Animals is a comic adventure, filled with drug using cats, horny dogs, cat-ninja assassins, vampire bats, cruelty and magic. In essence We R Animals is a love story told with warmth, where sometimes the laughter sits in the throat and forces us to question the morals and views of both animals and man.

We really hope they move forward with production on this film. Lots of wonderful things come from R-rated puppet films. Peter Jackson made Meet the Feebles in 1989, and later went on to direct the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Who knows…maybe the We R Animals director will go on to direct film adaptations of the collective works of Charles Dickens!

R U Intrigued by We R Animals?
