American Idol is back for its twelfth season and last night, the show aired its NYC auditions for its premiere!
New judges Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban made their debut, as Randy Jackson, the veteran of the bunch, returned to his familiar role!
By now, we’re all used to the format and formula and last night was no exception. The premiere had its share of sob stories, HIGHlarious auditioners and of course, some actual talent.
One hopeful in particular, Sarah Restuccio, belted out a Carrie Underwood number… and then BLEW the panel away with her rendition of Mz. Minaj’s Super Bass!

Another singer with some beautiful vocals was Ashlee Feliciano, who the judges all seemed to take a liking to!
Then of course we had James Bae, or as he was referred to as, the Asian Justin Bieber and Gurpreet Singh Sarin — the Turbanator!

That was the big question at the judges' Q & A session Wednesday night. And PerezHilton.com was on site when a fan got real and asked Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson what finding the next Idol is REALLY about!!
To our delightful surprise, there were some GREAT and HONEST answers:
Nicki: "It's about diversity. There are four of us, and our collective vote [decides at first], but then (with a matter of fact face and a head nod) it's up to America. America will decide if they want a big singer or if they want an entertainer!"
Randy: "Honestly, I want both. And I think you can have both. Look at Beyoncé. I think Beyoncé has it all. So I think and I KNOW you can have it all, and that's what I want!"
So you've heard it now, contestants! Y'all better channel your hand-wavin' Queen Bey if you want a chance to win. LOL!

Oh man, it's like Twilight: New Moon but for REALZ (well, except for the open relationship part)! Hopefully Kristen Stewart isn't going all "adrenaline junkie" on us, LOLz!
Rumor has it that Kristen and Robert Pattinson have split up (again), and that Robbie Robs has already starting moving stuff out of their shared Los Feliz home...
BUT, it seems that Robsten might not be 100% over -- or at least, an alleged insider claims Rob is NOT moving out yet, and that the pair are going to try dating other people!
