How many times has been this now? One, two, a bajillion??
Randy Quaid's wife, Evi, has missed yet another court date, which means yet another warrant is out for her arrest.
She failed to appear for a probation hearing on Thursday in Santa Barbara as she and her husband remain in Canada. They are seeking asylum from from the "Hollywood star-whackers."
At Thursday's hearing, their lawyer, Robert Sanger, withdrew from the case and declined to comment.
Smart move.
Evi indicated that she didn't want to leave her husband in Canada to go deal with the case in California. She now faces a new $100,000 arrest warrant.
Why'd you miss the court hearing this time, Quaids? Star-whackers threaten you? Randy's brother Dennis threaten you? Is your old Vacation castmate Chevy Chase threatening you this time, Randy? What's the deal?
Randy and Evi Quaid missed their newest courthouse appearance in Santa Barbara, and they've forfeited another $1 million bail.
Warrants for both of their arrests are still very much in effect.
The Quaids' lawyer, Bob Sanger, told the court that he hates his life the couple missed the hearing because Randy's passport was confiscated by Canadian authorities.
Sanger also told the court that he would no longer be representing the Quaids, but he'd relay the court's order to the couple as if it matters.
Evi Quaid is scheduled to return to court on Dec 16 for a parole violation. We'll be shocked if she shows up, or if either of the Quaids show up for any court dates ever again.
Do U think the Quaids will ever resolve ANY of their legal issues?
Looks like Evi Quaid is the one who's in more trouble this time!
After failing to show up to court yesterday morning, a judge in Santa Barbara, California has issued a bench warrant for Evi Quaid's arrest. The judge has also ruled that Evi forfeits the $500,00 bail that she posted earlier. Ouch!
The judge did NOT issue a bench warrant for Randy Quaid though, who has a court appearance coming up in Canada on November 8, BUT if Randy doesn't attend his U.S. court date on Nov 16 which is likely, he'll face a bench warrant as well.
Will things work out for Evi? Will Randy join his wifey and get a bench warrant too? Are people really trying to kill the Quaids?
Guess we'll see what happens as the saga of the Quaids continues!
Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, have been scheduled to appear in Santa Barbra today for an arraignment in their felony vandalism case. If they don't leave Canada to return to the states for the hearing, they could be in some serious trouble.
This is by far one of the strangest conspiracy theories we have ever heard.
For the first time since they have adopted their, um, "unique" Bonnie & Clyde lifestyle, Randy and Evi Quaid have agreed to sit down for an interview. This morning, they broke their silence by speaking to Good Morning America about their criminal activities and lack of time spent in court/prison.
But those topics never really came up. Instead, the pair went off on the wildest tangent imaginable, concocting a story that their biggest fear was that they would return to Hollywood only to be "whacked" by people who are looking to kill them for financial gain.
They say it's happened before, it will happen again and they don't want it happening to them!
According to the pair, there are several parties interested in killing them for profit. Theses supposed murders, according to them, include an estate planner, an accountant and the mafia. Evi goes on to call themselves "refugees," who both "genuinely feel" that these supposed "star whackers" are out to get them. Randy explains that these supposed killers have gone so far as to "follow" them around, "tag" their cell phones and hack their computer.
Then Randy puts forth that "it is very possible" that these same people could have "murdered" Heath Ledger and David Carradine for profit as well as "set up” Robert Blake! The couple even go on to say that these fiends other targets include Lindsay Lohan,Britney Spears and Mel Gibson, with Evi sighting Mel's much publicized recorded hate-rants as evidence of these alleged evil-doers handiwork. She explains:
"I think he was drugged. I think he was slipped a mickey … to steal his money and ruin him."
What the….???
Oh wait, here's the strangest part of the interview: both denied being "mentally unstable or under the influence of drugs. "
Anyone else not convinced about that?!
If you think you can handle it, check out the interview to hear more about the Quaid's theories. (above)
Despite making claims that they're being targeted by "Hollywood Star Whackers" and escaping to Canada, Randy Quaid swears that he and his wife Evi are not "crazy."
After his immigration hearing on Thursday, Randy told reporters:
"Up until a year ago, Evi and I had never had any run-in with the law whatsoever. We are not criminals, nor are we fugitives from justice, nor are we crazy. We are simply artists and film-makers being racketeered on."
