Lesbian Blogger Has Been Kidnapped In Syria

Such a sad, scary situation.
Lesbian blogger Amina Araf, who writes the blog A Gay Girl in Damascus AND is a voice for anti-government opposition in Syria, was kidnapped yesterday in Damascus.
According to reports, she was grabbed by "three armed men" in their twenties, who forced her into a vehicle.
Amina's cousin Rania Ismail posted the following about the kidnappers on the blog:
"The men are assumed to be members of one of the security services or the Baath Party militia. Amina's present location is unknown."
Amina is NOT popular in Syria for writing openly as a lesbian despite the fact that homosexuality is illegal in the country AND she's called for an end to the Bashir regime, which also makes her a target.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Amina and her family during this upsetting, difficult time.
We truly hope that she is okay, and makes it back home safely.
