Donatella Doesn't Want Fat People To Model Her H&M Line

donatella-versace-versace-for-hm-party-nyc__opt1.jpg

If Donatella Versace saw a "real" woman modeling her H&M clothes she'd tell her to "GET OOUUUUTTTTT!". Seriously.

The New York Daily News wanted to do a photo shoot of real women wearing clothes from the highly anticipated collection, but the fashion retailer quickly rejected the idea.

The News published the deets in the paper on Tuesday:

"The H&M publicist initially explained by email that the “Model New Yorkers” photo feature could probably not go forward because Versace had to approve “anyone who wears the collection for press” — and, she added, “Donatella will likely not approve shooting the collection on real women.”

She was right. When the Daily News writer organizing the shoot sent the publicist photos of two of the three women he wanted to use — all recent college graduates who work in the city — the answer came back that only one was acceptable.

When the News writer asked for an explanation, he was told the woman who was rejected “doesn’t fit [Versace’s] branding."

Sounds to us like Donatella's been laying under the sun lamp too long because the last time we checked H&M sells clothes to women of all sizes.

Oprah Winfrey has scored the first look at Jennifer Lopez's debut collection at Kohl's.

In the September issue of O, the Oprah Magazine, Jenny and seven readers were styled in different pieces from the Jennifer Lopez Collection.

We like how they used real women wearing the clothes to appeal to Kohl's target audience. Smart move.

Bold move, but it's what the people want!

British magazine Essentials has decided to use real women in lieu of the supermodels and celebrities we've all become used to.

A survey revealed that over 70 percent of their readers would rather see women like themselves over models in the magazine. The magazine's new cover girls were chosen after the women sent in their photos and bios for potential selection.

Style director Lucy Turner says:

"We're looking for amazing women that really reflect the magazine's readership, so women of all shapes, ages, and sizes. It's a real celebration of Essentials women."

Simpleton Will Use "Normal" Models During NYFW

Jessica Simpson is taking her curves to New York Fashion Week and she's bringing curvy models with her!

According to a Simpleton source:

"Jessica Simpson plans to unveil her latest collection for the media at New York Fashion Week in September, but there's a twist. Instead of using super-skinny models to showcase her designs, Jessica has decided to send her best friends - real women in real sizes - down the aisle."

We're not sure that's really a "twist", but it's a smart decision.

Can't wait to see all these so called friends of hers.

Calvin Klein Won't Cast Size 0s

wenn5375226_e.jpg

And so it continues.

Calvin Klein creative director Francisco Costa recently explained at a panel discussion that he prefers to cast real women to wear his clothes on the runway and it looks like he's sticking to his guns!

Costa has said he will no longer be casting size 0-2 models as he thinks they're "a little too formulaic".

Maybe that explains why Lara Stone is one of the label's faces!

Instead, CK will be focusing on sizes 2-4.

Sure, it may not be what the average size of real women, but it's a start!
