Phone Mess

There's a new scene in the plot of this Lifetime movie!

When little 8-year-old Sarah Payne was abducted and murdered, her mother found a friend in News of the World.

Literally.

She and the paper's editor-in-chief, Rebekah Brooks, became super close during the investigation.
So close, Brooks presented Sara Payne with a token of her friendship - a cell phone "to help her stay in touch with her supporters."

Ooooh no.

Yep, you guessed it. Evidence has apparently been found showing the phone was hacked by Glen Mulclaire, a private investigator for the tabloid.

Those sneaky bitches!

When asked, Brooks denied having any part in the hacking. HA!

Ugh! So gross!

So scary.

Last we heard about the News of the World phone hacking scandal, the former editor of the publication Rebekah Brooks was arrested on charges of conspiracy and bribing police for information…but was released early Monday morning.

Now, we're very sad to report that Sean Hoare, a former NOTW employee who was one of the first to blow the whistle on the scandal, has been found dead.

Hoare "was discovered at his home in Watford, Hertfordshire, after concerns were raised about his whereabouts."

Here's what Hertfordshire police had to say about his death:

How the mighty have fallen.

Former News of the World editor Rebekah Brooks is the sixth and highest-ranked person to be arrested over the weekend over her role in the paper's phone hacking scandal. She's been accused of charges of conspiracy and bribing police for information.

She began working at the paper in 2000.

Her stay behind bars didn't last long as she was released on bail early Monday morning London time and is set to return in October.

Seems like each one involved in the scandal is going down one by one. We hope they get what's due to them.
