DJ Dog Scratching A Record

No, it's not some funny play on words where the dog is scratching and pawing at a record with his claws.

This dog is totally scratching the record!

If he played a show we would totally go.

His stage name should be Deadpug5.

LOLz!

Puppy Bowl Attracts Less Viewers Than Last Year

puppy-bowl-view-down.jpg

We're going to go ahead and assume that this was a more interesting Super Bowl than last year because we have no idea why less people would watch the Puppy Bowl this year!

This year's Puppy Bowl only had 8.7 million viewers, a few less than it's record setting 9.2 million of last year.

Animal Planet did set another record though, this time for online page views with 5.5 million views and 1.4 million videos streamed on their website.

Even on twitter, Animal Planet had the top trending topics:

#puppybowl, #animalplanet, #kittyhalftimeshow and #fumble (Puppy Bowl VIII's Most Valuable Puppy – MVP).

We can't wait until next year's cute little Puppy Bowl!

We Aren't Even Close To Having Discovered All The Species On Earth

So, if you thought we were doing a pretty good job at discovering species, we hope your definition of "good job" doesn't rely on "speed or scope."

Why? Because we've only found 1.9 million species.

That sounds like a lot, right? Well, not really when a new study is out saying there are 8.8 million species on the planet.

WOW!

"Of those species, 6.5 million would be on land and 2.2 million in the ocean, which is a priority for the scientists doing the work since they are part of the Census of Marine Life, an international group of scientists trying to record all the life in the ocean.

The research estimates that animals rule with 7.8 million species, followed by fungi with 611,000 and plants with just shy of 300,000 species."

Researchers should get on this, as it could take up to 500 years to complete the catalogue if those numbers are correct!

Check out the video above to hear all about it, and to see some of the newest species to be found!

Have You Seen Steven Colbert's Cat?

Steven Colbert's Missing Kitty

ZOMG! Poor Steven Colbert!

On Thursday night's episode of The Colbert Report, which featured the debut performance of the new single, Steven instructed his nation to plaster communities across the country with flyers featuring himself, Jack White and band The Black Belles and their "missing" cat.

Presumably, Colbert has not lost his cat, but is actually promoting his new record, produced by rocker Jack White.

The single, called "Charlene II (I'm Over You)," is being distributed through iTunes and via the website HaveYouSeenOurCat.com.

Steven, you're soopa funny but missing cats are no joking matter!

Lily Wants Her Dad's Dinner

So cruel (but also adorable)!!!

Lily's parents recorded her ridiculous pleading for people food.

Instead of snatching up the yumminess when she has the chance, Lily dances for it.

We hope she got to at least try some.
