Fast & Furious 6 CRASHES At The TOP Of The Box Office While No One Is Interested In A Third Hangover!

ibstf9edrq4uzn

We guess movie goers are FINALLY hungover when it comes to The Hangover franchise!

While the third and final installment of the comedic trilogy made a solid $42.4 million in its opening weekend, it was NO MATCH for the latest Fast & Furious sequel, Fast & Furious 6, which DOMINATED with an insane $98.5 million!

And that's not all it's expected to make, given that Memorial Day is tomorrow!

In fact, if it does as well as it's estimated to do - around $122 million - then it will become the FOURTH-HIGHEST opening for the holiday EVER!

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. president of distribution Dan Fellman, responsible for The Hangover Part III, admits:

"It was a little surprising that we didn't reach the $80 million mark, but I can't look at a $63 million or $64 million opening and say it wasn't solid. Obviously, the first choice was Fast 6, but hopefully people will get a dose of that film and then come back to us."

Guess we'll have to see and find out!

Oz Remains Great And Powerful! Highest-Grossing Film Of 2013!

box office top ten

Finally! An actual, successful movie in 2013!

For the second week in a row, Oz the Great and Powerful topped the box office this weekend, pulling in $42.2 million and securing it as the year's highest-grossing film so far, with a domestic total of $145 million!

Nice!

But props also need to go to Halle Berry, whose new movie The Call followed up in the number two spot with $17.1 million, secured the actress her biggest non-X-Men movie opener since Gothika! AND with a reported budget of $15 million, it's already made back its cost…and then some!

Sadly, the exact opposite happened to Steve Carell, whose new comedy Burt Wonderstone secured the actor the worst opening for a comedy he has headlined with only $10.3 million!

OUCH!

But hey! It still came in #3, so that's something!

Right?

Beyoncé Helps CBS Score Best Super Bowl Ratings EVER!!! BUT… She Couldn't Tackle Madonna's Record!

ymn99wc

Who on this planet with access to CBS WASN'T watching the network with baited breath Sunday eve… to witness the Beyoncé extravaganza/Destiny's Child reunion!!!!

Oh, there was a football game going on too? ADORBS!!

LOLz! Nah we just kid!

Sunday's Super Bowl XLVII was a NAIL-nibbler of a game with the San Fransisco 49ers ALMOST making a crazy comeback, but in the end the Baltimore Ravens reigned supreme…

As did CBS! Sunday's game garnered the HIGHEST SUPER BOWL RATINGS in recorded history with WELL over 100 million peeps watching!

Congrats to EVERYONE involved!

And we're sure Beyoncé, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland helped just a teeeensy weensy bit … although, in the end, Queen B couldn't topple Madonna's record for Super Bowl halftime ratings. Beyoncé’s halftime show megashow, which occurred in the 8 – 8:30 PM ET time slot, scored a 48.2/71; that’s down from the 48.1/72 of Madonna’s 2012 halftime performance.

SO CLOSE! They are both remarkable ladies in our eyes. Screw it, let's call it even, huh?!

If you're curious, ch-ch-check out the top five highest rated Super Bowls …AFTER THE JUMP!!!

The Hobbit Breaks Midnight Records!

Hobbit Midnight Screening Record

12 million at 12 o'clock has a pretty nice ring to it.

But The Hobbit went for the baker's dozen, grossing a record-breaking $13 million at its midnight screenings Thursday night!

This pales in comparison to the midnight grosses of Harry Potter or Twilight, but it's not bad for a book that was written 75 years ago!

Tolkien fans around the country took An Unexpected Journey, setting it on the path to breaking the December opening weekend record as well.

Thirteen million marks the most a December midnight release has ever made, only topping the previous record by The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King.

So Peter Jackson, we're happy and sad for you!

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 Has A $141.3 Million Opening Weekend!

the-twilight-saga-breaking-dawn-part-2-eighth-biggest-weekend-opening-ever

Hey! You know that if even the former Presidential candidate is checking it out during its opening weekend, you've got a hit on your hands!

That's right, we're now learning that Mitt Romney contributed to what Summit is estimating to be a $141.3 million debut for the concluding chapter to The Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn - Part 2's opening weekend, which marks it as making nearly the exact amount its predecessor, Breaking Dawn - Part 1, made in a similar timeframe, and just below the franchise's record-holder, New Moon!

On a much larger scale, however, the collective gross will mark it as the EIGHTH largest opening weekend for a movie EVER…even though three of the movies ahead of it - The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Hunger Games - all opened this year, as well!

No shame in that, though!

We're delighted to see that our beloved Edward and Bella could close out the year of mega-blockbusters with some sparkles!
