On Monday, the Swedish Ski Association sadly confirmed that extreme skier Matilda Rapaport passed away on Monday after she was involved in an avalanche accident near Chile's capital, Santiago.
The avalanche occurred last Thursday while the 30-year-old and was filming promotional footage for Ubisoft's upcoming winter sports game Steep.
After rescue workers pulled her from under the snow, the athlete was taken to a hospital where it was found she suffered from oxygen deprivation and brain damage.
She died in the hospital four days later.
