And no, we don't think this was just for good press.

The NHL hasn't been doing much lately, other than not agreeing with anything the player's union says and pissing off hockey fans everywhere.
Finally, they've done something good.
Not in regards to hockey though, things still look as bleak as ever.
The NHL is asking that their fans donate to the Red Cross disaster relief fund to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Here's something both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney can agree on.
Hurricane Sandy has devastated parts of the East Coast and the Red Cross needs all the donations it can get for disaster relief! The politicians are calling on every American to help support the cause and have tweeted:
The President took the next step by visiting the organization's headquarters in Washington, DC on Tuesday and warned that "the storm is not yet over."
Regardless of any more damage that may be on the way though, he wants anyone affected by Sandy to know that help is on the way and stated:

Very generous! C'mon, Hollywood! More of you need to do this!
David Spade is hero to those in the midwestern and southeastern parts of the United States who late last month were left devastated by the over 178 tornados that ripped through that part of the country. The actor has pledged a donation of $200,000 to the American Red Cross for disaster relief and with that, released this statement, saying:
"With the devastating disasters the tornadoes and floods are causing I wanted to help the Red Cross in their efforts to provide help as quickly as possible. I also hope this will help to shine the spotlight on the people of the United States who are in desperate need right now and that others will join me in donating what they can to support the American Red Cross’ huge disaster relief effort."
Bravo, David. A donation like this is going to do a lot of good for the poor people whose lives have been forever changed by this tragedy. We truly hope more people follow in your footsteps and offer as much assistance as they can.
Nothing's too little! Give what you can!
