John Legend & Juanes Serenade Detained Immigrants In Arizona For #FreeAmerica! Listen To Their Redemption Song!
On Wednesday, the Colombian musician and the soulful singer joined forces outside Eloy Immigration Detention Center in Arizona, where they performed to draw attention to the immigration issue in the U.S.
The two artists put on a moving rendition of Bob Marley's Redemption Song to a small crowd of people protesting "crimmigration."
However, they were NOT allowed to sing inside for the detained immigrants. Instead, they set up shop on top of a flatbed truck across the street, in the hopes that the incarcerated people could hear.
Unfortunately, organizers learned that they weren't allowed out of their cells for the performance.
But the two singers were able to meet some of the detainees and get a glimpse of the conditions inside the facility. Juanes was upset by what he witnessed, saying in Spanish:
