angelina jolie captured in remarkable photo visiting syrian refugee children in lebanon

This lady does so much in such limited time.

Angelina Jolie was recently spotted attending the BAFTAs with Brad Pitt, but she hasn't forgotten her responsibilities as a UNHCR Special Envoy.

A week or so after making her rounds at the awards show the starlet flew to Lebanon where she visited a Syrian Refugee Settlement. Angelina spent three days with some of the 3,500 orphaned and displaced children at the camp. The location of the camp is in the eastern Bekaa Valley of Lebanon, and Angelina Jolie called the time she spent there "heart-rending".

The particular photo (above) was taken this past Sunday on February 23rd.

Angelina Jolie Meets Syrian Refugee Children

Angelina Jolie is more than one of the biggest movie stars in the world. She's also a citizen of the world.

As the United Nations' Special Envoy, Angelina traveled to Lebanon on Wednesday. She met with government officials, Syrian refugees, and their nationless children.

The mother of six spoke to several families who, fearful of being killed in the crossfire of a bloody civil war, had left their men behind in order to cross the border from Syria safely. She said:

"I was moved to meet Syrian families in homes where they are welcomed and protected… They lost so much."

Angelina and the U.N.'s High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres praised the Lebanese government for granting asylum to the fleeing Syrians and called on other countries to do the same.

We are so proud of Angie's efforts. And we can only hope that one day the children of Syria grow up knowing only peace.

Angie On Hand For UNHCR's 60th Anniversary

While still on the promotional tour for The Tourist, Angelina Jolie paid a visit to the staff at UNHCR, an important refugee agency, that celebrated its 60th anniversary today.

Her stay in Madrid was brief, but she did offer this thanks to the hard-working people at the agency. She said:

“In the week of UNHCR’s anniversary, I would like to highlight the strength and courage of the world’s refugees and [other] forcibly displaced people who are, for all of us, an example of generosity and dignity. My thoughts go also to the dedicated UNHCR staff, who for many years have risked their lives to protect the lives of refugees.”

We just so admire how she is involved with so many different wonderful and important organizations around the world. Truly inspiring!

Canada Saved The Quaids' Lives From Hollywood Star Whackers

quaids say canada saved their lives

Canada should get a medal or something for saving the delusional Quaids' lives!

Randy Quaid and wife Evi are crediting Canada for saving their lives from "Hollywood Star Whackers" who they believe are hunting them.

Looks like they're trying to get in Canada's good graces, in an effort to convince their Immigration and Refugee board to give them refugee status.

Here's what Randy had to say about it:

"I feel good. If it wasn't for Canada's refugee laws my wife and I would be dead."

Randy is currently going through two separate hearings with Canada's immigration board, which are as follows:

- To determine his refugee claim

- Determine whether he is admissible to Canada

If things don't go well for Randy, they'll deport him back to the U.S.

Does Canada really want to deal with the Quaids on a permanent basis? We have our suspicions we'll be seeing them back in the U.S. soon.

Do U think Canada should give the Quaids refugee status?
