Jesus (Or Someone) Appears On A Walmart Receipt

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueEtc.

So, apparently a couple believes that Jesus has appeared on a receipt they got from shopping at Walmart.

Being a very religious couple (which is fine), though, they immediately jumped to the conclusion that it's Jesus. To us, it looks like some sort of sinister serial killer. But to each their own!

Check out the video above and let us know if U agree with the couple, and if not, let us know who U think it looks like!

Suspected Cult Leader Kills Four-Year-Old Boy Because He Believed Him To Be Gay

suspected-cult-leader-kills-four-year-old-boy-because-he-believed-him-to-be-gay

This is possibly the most horrific, tragic, and chilling story that we've heard in quite some time.

Peter Lucas Moses, a religious extremist and possible cult leader in North Carolina, has been charged with not only killing 28-year-old Antoinetta Yvonne McKoy, but also his four-year-old stepson Jadon Higganbothan, because he believed him to be gay!

According to authorities, Moses lived in a one-room home with three women and nine children, and because he believed homosexuality to be an abomination, he shot the child. It's currently believed that McKoy was killed because she tried to escape.

Worse yet, the deplorable acts were only uncovered by police when one of the other woman living with the psycho escaped and reported him, and the child's mother, Vania Rae Sisk, is suspected of being complicit in his death!

If found guilty, Moses faces the death penalty, and Sisk is also being charged for her connection to the crime.

Unbelievable. It is truly a sad, sad world out there - especially when one thinks that all of this was done in the name of a higher power that's supposed to love unconditionally.

Our heart goes out to that poor child, the loved ones and friends of McKoy.

May they both rest in peace.

Dear Rhode Island: THIS SUCKS!!!

rhode-island-civil-unions.jpg

We're very disappointed in you, Rhode Island. You're making a mockery of the fight for equality and that's just not cool!

Today, the Rhode Island Senate will vote to pass a new Civil Unions bill that will grant same-sex couples the right to get married under common law. While that might sound like an astounding achievement, we've learned that the bill is riddled with injustice in an effort to maintain religious liberties. In essence, the bill would allow religious organizations and their individual employees to completely "disregard the validity of a civil union in any context."

So, let's say you're a gay couple and your partner is sick and needs to go to the hospital. If it is a religiously affiliated medical center, they can deny the civil union spouse’s right to not only make medical decisions for them, but even so much as sit at their bedside. That same couple would be denied the right to take a medical leave to care for their spouse if the company is religion based.

How absurd. What good is this bill if it doesn't protect the people from those who are the direct cause of their oppression! What kind of sense does that make?! This could have been such a significant day for Rhode Island. Now, it's just saddened by the thought of what could've been.

Are Madonna And Her Boo Back On??

madonna-spotted-out-with-brahim-zaibat-again

Phew! We were hoping that they wouldn't let something like this break them up!

Although Madonna and her boyfriend, Brahim Zaibat, reportedly split recently over differences in religious beliefs, the two were spotted together getting lunch together in Greenwich Village on Monday!

According to a witness:

"They came together and drank champagne. They stayed for a long time and left together pretty late."

Inneresting! Definitely sounds as though they might be on the right track again!

Glad to hear it, guys!

Hopefully you two can sort out your differences and make it work!

Fingers crossed!

Very inneresting. We'd def be curious to hear more about this…although we're not so sure we'd ever try it ourselves. Ouchie!

What do U think about this religious ritual? Could U handle a piercing through your cheeks?

Katy Perry's Parents Go Silent About Tell-All Book

katy perrys parents go silent about tell all book

Last week, we heard that Katy Perry's mother is currently shopping around a book that talks about how Katy "has impacted her Christian ministry."

Now, Katy's parents have gone silent on the subject, refusing to give out new deets about the book to anyone.

Here's what Katy's father Keith Hudson had to say about it:

“We have been inundated with calls on this subject and we are not going to comment on any book release."

“That’s all we have to say on this topic at the moment.”

Why so quiet about the book, you two? More details would be appreciated!

What do U think is the deal with the Katy Perry tell-all book? Why do U think Katy's parents won't talk about it?

South Park Creators' Musical Is Coming…This Thursday!

south park creators mormon musical previews begin this thursday

Broadway is about to get controversial AND HIGHlarious!

Back in September, we were excited to hear that South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone's religious satire The Book of Mormon was scheduled to premiere on Broadway on March 24.

Now, we're SO excited to announce that previews for the musical about "a pair of teenage Mormon missionaries sent to Uganda, where they confront war, famine and AIDS" will start THIS THURSDAY!

Oddly enough, Matt stone says the musical is pro-faith:

"…I mean, (Mormon) is a pro-faith musical. People may say, 'What?!' But that's what it's meant to be."

More from Stone:

"We can have a lot of fun at the Mormons' expense, because there's stuff in their religion that may seem silly to outsiders. But these are really nice people who believe what they do wholeheartedly. And that leads us to ask, well, what do you believe in, and what's goofy about that?"

Here's a statement that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued with regards to the play:

"The production may attempt to entertain audiences for an evening [but that Mormon scripture] will change people's lives forever."

And here's what Stone had to say in response:

"Those guys just kill us with kindness every time. Their response to our South Park episode (on Smith) was basically the same: 'Look, you're free to do what you want.' It's so big-hearted and fundamentally American."

Ha! Now we're REALLY intrigued by this musical…especially after Matt Stone said it's a "pro-faith musical." Inneresting way to describe a Mormon-themed play by the South Park guys…

Are U excited for this play? Do U think it will, in fact, be "pro-faith?"
