Governor Scott Walker Is Pretty Much The Worst Governor

Scott Walker Is Horrible

You may remember Governor Scott Walker from last May, when he tried to kill a bill that would let same-sex couples be recognized as next of kin for hospital visitation rights.

Yeah, that nice guy.

Well, he's still been busy!

What has been up to? Glad you asked! On Good Friday, he signed some things into law, including: a repeal of workers’ rights to sue, a bill mandating only abstinence-only sex education, a law that places new state limits on abortion.

How did this guy even get his job?? These are basically anti-women, anti-worker, and even anti-children bills that are now law!

And he did it late in the evening on Good Friday, no less, knowing nobody would really be around to notice or object or make a fuss.

Watch The Navy's First Official Lesbian Kiss!

This really is such a beautiful, important moment for the country!

We're so thrilled it was captured on camera!

For the first time since Don't Ask Don't Tell was repealed, a lesbian couple was chosen by raffle to receive the first-ever same-sex homecoming kiss, which is a ritual done in the Navy every year!

And the lucky winners? Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta, who greeted her fiancée Citlalic Snell - whom she met at boot camp and got involved with secretly until the September repeal - on the pier for the history-making smooch!

So wonderful! Ch-ch-check it out (above)!

As Gaeta says:

"It's nice to be able to be myself."

Exactly. A simple right that EVERYONE should have.

Congratulations, ladies!

And EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL!

Talk About A Non-Violent Protest!

Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikLove LineInspiration

Two men got a little busy while engaging in a passionate kiss when an Al Jazeera reporter was trying to inform about the results of the 2011 elections in Spain — on live TV!

The right wing party has won the elections, which is pretty terrible for same-sex marriage in Spain. They won due to the economical crisis, but plan to enforce their homophobic POVs on LGTB rights!

They even plan to repeal the same-sex marriage rights altogether.

Shame!

But out of this came this vignette of protest, and we can't help but be inspired by the use of love!

Check it out above!

DOMA Repeal Push Gains Strength In Washington And California!

california and washington doma

We're getting SO CLOSE!!!!!

Last week, we were absolutely THRILLED to announce that the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to move forward with a bill THAT WOULD REPEAL THE DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT!

As a reminder, DOMA "allows states not to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states and provides a federal definition for 'marriage' that excludes same-sex couples."

Historic!!!! DOMA Repeal Moves Forward In The Senate!!!!!!

doma repeal moves forward

A MAJOR step in the right direction!!!! We're absolutely THRILLED to hear this!!!

Back in July, we were very pleased to hear that President Barack Obama was moving forward with his support of the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

As a reminder, DOMA "allows states not to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states and provides a federal definition for 'marriage' that excludes same-sex couples."

Now, we've learned that

Doonesbury Character Roz Comes Out After End Of DADT

doonesbury-gay-strip-1.jpg

Welcome to the gayborhood!

Now this is what we like to see. People using their outlets to spread the good word, like the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” The cartoon Doonesbury has been in circulation for 40+ years, but this past week's columns have been some of the best, if you ask us.

The character of Roz, because of the repeal of DADT, decides to finally come out of the closet as a lesbian to her commanding officer, her mother and everyone in her unit. The nice thing about it is that the humor plays to the positive of the situation, not the negative.

Check out the first of the series (above) and then click the gallery to see the following strips.

Bravo, Garry Trudeau! Thanks for the support!
