Life imitating art…

In July, 10-year-old Jacob O'Connor was sitting on his grandma's couch when he noticed the house's screen doors were open. When the Detroit-native looked outside, he saw his 2-year-old brother Dylan face down in the pool.

Almost immediately, Jacob rushed into action. He told WXYZ 7 News:

"I pulled him out and started giving him compressions."

But where did he learn to perform the emergency procedure?? From Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's 2015 film San Andreas.

"There was an earthquake, then it caused a tsunami and then there was a daughter that was drowning and he had to get her out and he did the same thing."

After Jacob alerted his grandma Ellen Vial, Dylan — who was face down for about a minute — was immediately taken to the hospital. Ellen recalls:

"I looked in his eyes and his eyes were up in his head and not focused and that's what really scared me."

When mom Christa was notified, she was left in limbo regarding her son's health:

"The first few hours at the hospital were the worst because they weren't sure if he was going to fully recover… They couldn't tell me he's going to be okay."

Luckily, the young boy was only hospitalized for a day, and even tried to go back to the pool the next day.

On Thursday, The Rock found out about Jacob's story and praised him for being a "real life hero." The movie star wrote on Twitter:

These little piggies were saved… for a later date.

Back in February, officers from the Pewsey Fire Station in the UK saved 18 piglets and 2 adult pigs from a fire in Wiltshire that set over 2,000 pounds of hay ablaze.

The farm was grateful for the firefighters' fearless service, and wanted to say thank you. So, six months later, manager Rachel Rivers gave the pigs back to the officers — in the form of sausages!

The department found themselves in another firestorm after posting about the "fantastic" gift on Facebook, sharing a photo of the pork products barbequing on the grill.

Animal lovers were steamed. PETA pointed out the irony of the ill-fated rescue, saying the piglets were "no better off" for escaping the fire, adding:

An adorable three-month-old Chihuahua named Chewy was found in a bathroom at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas last weekend alongside a heartbreaking note from his owner for why she had to leave him.

You see, Chewy's mom was apparently escaping an abusive relationship and was unable to afford the extra fee to get the little cutie on the flight.

The devastating letter revealed that Chewy was caught up in the crossfire of abuse and might need medical attention — adding that she had "no other option" but to leave her beloved pet:

"My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting and he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet … Please love and take care of him."

This is much worse than we thought.

Last night, it was reported that Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie was in critical condition after an ATV accident on a hunting trip.

The 25-year-old later released a statement saying the media reports surrounding the accident were "incorrect," but did not clarify what actually happened to the 8-year-old.

According to a statement by Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards, the crash did not take place on a hunting trip, but on the family property — right in front of Spears and her husband Jamie Watson.

Just before 3:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, Maddie was reportedly steering the ATV to avoid running over a nearby drainage ditch, and "overcorrected," causing the ATV to flip into a pond and submerge under the water.

The report explained that Jamie Lynn and her husband dove in and tried to rescue the girl, but were unable to free her from her safety belt and the ATV netting.
