Obama Believes That Anthony Weiner Will "Bounce Back"

Anything can happen in politics, right??

President Obama is certain that former congressman Anthony Weiner will "bounce back" from his sexting scandal.

Just a day after Weiner resigned, Obama said on GMA:

"I wish Rep. Weiner and his lovely wife well. Obviously, it's been a tough incident for him, but I'm confident that they'll refocus and he'll refocus, and they'll end up being able to bounce back."

Since the scandal broke, many Democrats have been trying to distance themselves from Weiner. Even Obama himself advised that Weiner should quit congress, saying that he "would resign" if he were in his shoes.

This certainly isn't the worst of political scandals we've seen in recent years and we're sure that with a few good PR moves, Obama could be right. We just might see Weiner pop up again in a few years!

Matt Lauer Leaving The Today Show Too???

Lauer Might Leave Today Show

Right on the heels of us letting you know that Meredith Vieira could be leaving the Today Show, we're finding out that Matt Lauer might be also abandoning ship.

Could the Today Show lose both hosts??

Here's the insider Lauer tidbit:

"Matt Lauer has notified his NBC bosses that he will be resigning from the "Today" show when his contract expires on December 31, 2012."

When asked about both Vieira and Lauer, NBC just repeated that they're both currently under contract. Awesome, because that's what we wanted to know!

How's about a little transparency?!

2012 is quite the shake up year for anchors, especially since Couric is bouncin' from her job too!

How would U feel about Lauer leaving?

Charlie Sheen Fires His Publicist…After He Quit

Did you think it was going to be that easy, Stan? Did you really think you were going to walk away without any backlash?!

Tsk, tsk! It's like you don't know the man at all!

Shortly after publicist Stan Rosenfield announced he was resigning as Charlie Sheen's publicist in an effort to save his own reputation, Charlie told sources that he's uber-pissed about this betrayal. Actually, what he told sources was:

"P**sy. He's not allowed to quit, so you’re fired."

Um, ok then. Either way, he's out, which at the end of the day, is probably all that matters to him.

Consider another bridge burnt!

It's Down To Two! Who Will Replace Andy Whitfield On Spartacus: Blood And Sand?

Given the really tragic circumstances surrounding this, it will be a pretty somber victory for either of these guys.

After actor Andy Whitfield's cancer returned in September and forced him to resign from his title role on the Starz series Spartacus: Blood and Sand, the second season of the show has been in limbo as producers attempt to find a suitable replacement for the part.

Although three relatively unknown actors were said to be in contention, sources close to the production are now linking former Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell as the number one choice to replace Whitfield!

The actor is said to have e-mailed a screen-test to the Starz head honchos last Friday, and the decision is now between him and Liam McIntyre, whom we're hearing may not have the muscular frame to convincingly portray the character!

Hmm. We definitely think Liam looks a lot more like Andy, but he definitely needs to be pretty jacked if he's going to be a gladiator, so we can understand why Dominic has been pulled in for consideration, as well!

This is a toughie!

What do U think?? Who should get the part??

Oksana's Spokesperson Resigns!

Not good!

Steve Jaffe, a top Hollywood crisis manager who once worked for Bill Clinton, has resigned from his post as Oksana Grigorieva's spokesperson.

He explains:

"The case was so all encompassing in terms of my time and the strict orders by the judge. I have other clients in serious crises who require my time. There was frustration from the client, who wanted to defend herself - and rightly so - but also had to follow the judges' orders, so I thought it best I simply resign."

He joined the case after Oksana was accused of editing the tapes of Mel Gibson's rants.

Now Oksana is considering replacements for Jaffe including Howard Bragman who recently said:

"I think Mel Gibson is not going to have a mainstream Hollywood career again. Let's not feel really bad for Mel Gibson… He's reportedly worth more than a billion dollars."

We agree!
