Jay Z's streaming music service TIDAL may be in a bit of trouble — more than just lack of subscribers we mean.
They're reportedly facing a lawsuit for not paying artists!
Yesh Music and John Emanuele from the band The American Dollar are suing the streaming service for $5 million stating that TIDAL streamed 116 songs from the band without paying ANY royalties!
Attorney Richard Garbarini stated that the group never received any money for their work until last November when they asked the streaming service to remove their music. Garbarini went on to say:
"I find it fairly amazing an organization that claims it was going to pay the artists, systematically does not pay the artists."
While TIDAL has had their own problems over the past year from allegedly releasing Lil Wayne's album for free, to charging credit cards on closed accounts, the Holy Grail rapper's company is looking to squash this suit early as they released a statement saying:
