Rick Perry wants to treat the public university system in Texas like a business.
You know, rank professors on how profitable they are to the school, give out bonuses based on anonymous student evaluations. Treat students like "customers." That kind of thing.
Doesn't sound great, right? Especially when tuition inflation is basically out of control. So why does he want to do things like this? Why the deep seeded hostility for good teachers that could get ruined by obnoxious students who decided to slack in class and do evaluations based on their earned grades?
Probably because he wasn't the best student either. Or a very good student. Actually, he
