Oh no! So sad!
Former National Hockey League enforcer Wade Belak was found dead in a Toronto, Canada condo on Wednesday, where he was staying to rehearse for the the Canadian reality series Battle of the Blades.
Police are treating his death as a suicide for now, which makes Belak is the THIRD hockey player to take his own life in the last four months.
Battle of the Blades, a competition featuring NHL players mastering figure skating routines alongside Olympic skaters, said the production was "shocked and deeply saddened" to hear about the hockey players death.
On the other hand, fellow Blades competitor and retired hockey player Georges Laraque insensitively remarked:
“What? … What’s with all the tough guys dying or having problems? Am I next on the list?”
Bad taste if you ask us! Belak's death follows the deaths of New York Ranger Derek Boogaard died in May and ex-Vancouver Canuck Rick Rypien in August.
